This album is pretty. Pretty mediocre! Her first album was a classic, her second was an amazingly nude and honest confessional that was nothing if not unconventional. Her songwriting was challenging and her sound seem to be growing. But here, she has cleaned up her act, gelled her hair, polished her nails, and produced everything so slickly as to make one sickly. Her songwriting was challenging and her sound seem to be growing. But here, she has cleaned up her act, gelled her hair, polished her nails, and produced everything so slickly as to make one sickly. This was her last decent album, however, so if you like her first two records, and want JUST ONE MORE half-decent sounding Alanis, then check this out, but don't expect to be blown away. Expand

Definitivamente não é o melhor álbum de Alanis, aliás foi nele que começou uma queda até o de 2008 que foi bem fraco. Mas fico feliz que o álbum teve certo sucesso comercial.

Under Rug Swept struggles to keep a sense of nonsensical conversation in Morrisette's Music - and perfectly represents it.

  1. Her stream-of-conscious lyrics about self-esteem and troubled relationships are just more of the same medicine that went down better with 1995's Jagged Little Pill.
  2. Morissette seems unwilling to step into unfamiliar territory.
  3. Although 2002 is still young, consider Under Rug Swept one of the year's best.
