Just like Cohen, Devoldere is a fanatic for detail. The instrumentation and vocal delivery on Warhaus meet perfectly in the middle.

He has very carefully constructed a beautiful sound that sets a gloomy but warm feeling that lasts through the whole album. Each song works well adding its own part to the album. There are many levels and interesting choices for the instruments that keep you intrigued. The opening songs "Mad World" and "Love's a Stranger" sets a perfect tune for the rest of the album that "Fall in love with me" closes.

Warhaus handles perfectly the question "what is love nowadays". "No such high" tells a story of a man that meets a girl on the internet and falls in love with her. Devoldere has a perfect balance with deep and appealing sounds that really takes you with it and lyrics that are very deep and sad but still funny in a twisted manner. Like Leonard Cohen did.

Warhaus's self-titled album is really something else. The grim but determined sound and the breathtaking attitude that Devoldere plays with added with ingenious lyrics constructs truly one of the greatest indie-rock albums of the decade.
