    Nice vocals but the first single sounds like a recycled song. The second single is catchy but the lyrics are nonsense. The album has 2 ok songs, the last one and lovesick girls. Waiting for such a long time for this kind of album is pretty disappointing imo.

    Some of the sons are really good and have some deep like Love To Hate Me or You Never Know which was a pleasant surprise, however, sadly, most of the songs follow the same formula blackpink have been stuck for years, the similar beats, the similar lyrics. of course it works, that’s why they use that formula so much, the problem is, at some point it becomes tiring.

    achei que faltou coisas novas, sempre a mesma farofa genérica, por ser o primeiro álbum da carreira, podia ser BEM melhor, sem contar que só tem oito faixas, parece mais um mini álbum.

    Al tener una poca cantidad de canciones, el concepto y ritmos de las canciones te hacen pensar que son la misma canción (ej. pretty savage, crazy over you, how you like that). Ice cream sería la ecepcion ante el ritmo, porque es bastante fácil de identificar con respecto a los demás temas
    Las letras no eran innovadoras, todas las canciones tocaba la misma temática
    Tienen una ventaja de    Al tener una poca cantidad de canciones, el concepto y ritmos de las canciones te hacen pensar que son la misma canción (ej. pretty savage, crazy over you, how you like that).     Tienen una ventaja de tener varias canciones en Inglés, para así llegar a más publico, así que pensé que iban a mostrar una letra más potente/fuerte o ligados a otros temas, pero no fue así, siguieron con lo mismo, y no han un trasfondo en ella, no muestra el sentimiento de las chicas solo nos dicen que son mejores que otros pero ahí termina su letra, sus voces no se proyecta en cada una de las canciones, los rap, me causan cierta decepción porque ni siquiera se si ellas mismas escribieron sus versos o otro las escribió por ellas (lo más probable)
    El álbum se siente como querer buscar validación con solo melodía sin letra ni canto, gran producción pero sin calidad absoluta. La única balada presente, esta de sobra entre las demás canciones del álbum, se siente como si se colocara solo para bajar la intensidad de los demás canciones o para querer justificar que pueden mostrar algo más que melodía, pero fracasan al no mostrar las voces de cada miembro, es una valida plana sin sentimiento, muy por debajo de su antecesora Hope Not

    Blackpink's first album (after having debuted 4 years ago) was highly anticipated by their fanbase but anyone with working ears will know that they have fallen short. Not worth listening to a second time. Highly disappointing.

    The album was underwhelming. Some of the songs gave early 2010’s vibes except the beats and songs didn't feel cohesive

    This group doesn't innovate. The same kind of songs in every album. The album is not interesting to listen to. I hope they can try new sounds on the future, and please, lyrics that doesn't go like pam pam pam rum pum pum. It is fine sometimes but not in every song...

    Quite basic. The songs have repetitive beats with no individuality. The tracks have same base and layerings. Seems like same ground is used to build up every song. The don't make sense. In whole, below average

Even the Cardi B feature could not save it from being mediocre at best. After waiting for nearly four years for a full album, I was really dissappointed by the lacklustre quality and lack of songs. I was looking forward to theIce Cream and How You Like That were really poor pre-releases that set the tone for the overall album, that feels outdated and somewhat stuck in the early 2000s. Even the Cardi B feature could not save it from being mediocre at best. After waiting for nearly four years for a full album, I was really dissappointed by the lacklustre quality and lack of songs.     I was looking forward to this and then Ice Cream happened and it was awful noise and the rest of the album is just as awful. While HYLT was ok, it's still not great :(

    The title track was good. But, the rest of the tracks were "meh". But, it's their first full album, so maybe we'd see better tracks for the next one. Ice Cream wad also highly anticipated, but disappointed me greatly.

    Su participación en sour candy empezó con expectativas altas pero a medida que iban sacando más canciones, estás solo fueron en retroceso. How you like that se convierte en otra canción más, ese típico estilo que llega a aburrir, pero si hablamos de aburrir realmente, entonces hay que mencionar ice cream, una colaboración con Selena Gómez dejaba un aire de curiosidad. How you like that se convierte en otra canción más, ese típico estilo que llega a aburrir, pero si hablamos de aburrir realmente, entonces hay que mencionar ice cream, una colaboración con Selena Gómez dejaba un aire de curiosidad. Pero la escuché y para cuando recordé ya había terminado. No era pegadiza y tampoco buena, más bien era extraña y sin duda su peor canción. Lovesick girl no es del todo mala, empieza con buen ritmo y buenas voces y para cuando llega al coro todo cae en picada. Bet you wanna parecía ser otra promesa debido a la participación de Cardi B, pero al final ¿qué culpa tiene cardi de que la hayan agregado a la -posiblemente- segunda peor canción del álbum?
    El resto de las canciones no valen la pena ser mencionadas. Para ser el primer álbum después de 4 años de carrera no hay duda alguna que los fans aceptan esto, porque es mejor algo a nada.
    El único punto que doy es porque Love to hate me es de hecho, una buena canción hasta que llega la parte innecesaria del rap. Si hubiese sido una canción que se dedicara solo a lo vocal, tal vez, habría sido la canción que salvara el álbum. Tal vez.    … Expand

    A majorly disappoiting debut album. A distinct sound and message as expected from a debut album was not delivered. the melodies are extremely repetitive and predictable. The lyrics have no clear message, with an excessive use of aave, theyre a bit hard to listen to.

Was expecting so much more for their first full album, turned out it only has 8 songs with 2 of them being pre-released singles. The songs are pretty generic, the only song i think is good is Pretty Savage. I looked up the lyrics and DEFINITELY not sth I expect, given that I rmb their fans said Blackpink has sth to do with woman empowerment...… Expand

Sintetizado em batidas genéricas e refrões fracos com palavras repetidas ou com onomatopeias, "The Album" trás aquilo que já conhecemos faixas baseadas em hip-hop e músicas bem animadas. O álbum é basicamente composto por sampleso novo mini álbum do blackpink é totalmente decadente, não saindo muito da sua fórmula base a girlband não inova trazendo novos gêneros ou diversidade musical. Sintetizado em batidas genéricas e refrões fracos com palavras repetidas ou com onomatopeias, "The Album" trás aquilo que já conhecemos faixas baseadas em hip-hop e músicas bem animadas. O álbum é basicamente composto por samples não creditadas e em umas das faixas inclusive faz apologias a gordofobia. As colaborações são totalmente uma porcaria que são totalmente desprezíveis, tendo sua única função como o aumento das vendas no mercado ocidental. They had quite a few new producers and writers on this project and yet it sounds like a completely recycled concept of their older tracks even the choreo is quite lame and outdated. The features were the only highlight of the entire album and still managed to be underwhelming and uncohesive both lyrically and production wise the other album tracks arent even memorable to mention. The only difference on this album is that majority of the songs are in English very strange considering they a korean group yet their debut album has more english in it than korean? This move just lacks a certain musical integrity in other words ....sell outs. This album was a solid 0/10 not even the visuals can save this mediocre farce.… Expand

    In first place, this album should be a mini-album, because it has only 8 songs. I really expected more, and even bought the physical album. They keep using the same techniques, so their songs, to me, sound repetitive. Also, I feel that the collaborations were unnecessary, they don't contribute anything.

    The most awful album of the year. The lyric of this album is so empty. Their voice doesn't harmonize with the beat. The album by Blackpink is just a mess in my opinion

And i can see 2 of the members were added to the credits to lsg along with a full house of writers and producers (to appease fans begging them to participate in the making of their music) it really seems like they dont care what they put out as long as they know their fans will buy it, this album had the biggest build up just to underperform in every aspect perhaps spend more time in the studio instead of attending fashion events and advertising your brand deals on Instagram for a quick paycheck their is no artistry here… Expand

    Honestly, I'm tired. I have been trying to get into the group but I feel like I'm always listening to the same song. The girls are beautiful, but I'm not staying for looks.

    When it comes to musicality. They sounds like a gong,auto tunes and the beats, songs are the same like their old songs. Nothing's really special. they're always stagnant, have a dark concept.Maybe that's their group image. It's not inspiring and you'll get bored to listen to it.

    Overrated songs, basic lyrics, auto tunes everywhere.. though you may expect a huge, life changing songs there when you look at the amount of producers that have participated in the making of the album but no theyre all even lower than basic.
