MichaelHSep 2, 2006The most amazing album of 2006, she is the #1 R&B or Pop female out right now hands down.
-
-
kevinSep 7, 2006This album requires that you sit down and soak it all in - take more than one or two listens before judging. It's in no way a dissapointment. It's passionate and full of rage. I respect Beyonce more than ever. I love it.

I want to be a singer and she motivates me.

JasmineCSep 8, 2006This album is wonderful, probably Beyonce's best work. The songs are catchy and her Aretha Franklin-esque vocals are so vibrant on the album, should be a huge hit for her. My favorite songs are Resentment, Irreplaceable, Upgrade U, and Get Me Bodied, but I love the WHOLE album!!!!!!!!
-
-
BaronBSep 8, 2006Excellent example of great popular music because of its brevity. In 10 stellar tracks that emphasize attitude and energy, B'Day streams a variety of mini-anthems over hard hitting beats in a way only Beyonce can
-
-
LilyGSep 13, 2006The album is fantastic, and one of the best albums of the year. The album on the surface may come across as just a fun dance album. But if you really listen closely the album has some great lyrics and thought-provoking theme when it comes to relationships.
-
-
Aug 3, 2012"B'Day" is just a timeless classic album filled with some of Beyoncé's best uptempos (Déjà Vu, Upgrade U, Freakum Dress, Get Me Bodied) and her best midtempos and ballads (Irreplaceable, Resentment, Flaws and All).

-
PeterM.Sep 6, 2006This is a great album, the only bad song is "Ring The Alarm." I personally think it was the wrong choice for a single. But for the most part, this album is better than her first. I don't understand why Deja Vu was not as popular as Crazy in Love.

IrisG.Sep 6, 2006The album is great. I love all the uptempo songs, and the ballads are gorgeous on the album.

-
May 4, 2015ore. You can tell all of her songs came from the heart. The only thing that I have to say is that I don't think "Run The World (Girls)" fits into the album AT ALL. Other than that, the album is flawle
-
Aug 30, 2016Amazing! The best Beyoncé album ever! Is everything and has everything i always wanted Beyoncé to do. She presents a perfect masterpiece and not everyone these days can do it like she can. Collapse
-
keishadSep 16, 2006This was a waste of money, there is nothing impressive about this album. My buddys bought the cd before me and told me it was garbage, next time i will listen to them and save my money for something that is worth it.

JackSep 5, 2006My sister recently bought this album and won't stop listening to at full volume. I can easily say without a doubt that my ears haven't been so fully raped since her last atrocity. Beyonce just another celeb with no talent and only gets by on looks. Avoid this cd at all costs.
-
-
PennyWSep 5, 2006These early reviews have to be kidding me. Although the beats are decent, B'Day is filled with egocentric references and poorly written lyrics that seem to repeat themselves over and over. It may be a step up from Dangerously In Love, but because Beyonce created this album in a rush, it suffers.
-
-
CyHSep 6, 2006Are you guys serious? These songs blend together and sound alike. I can gather two decent songs. This shyt sucks. I thought she would have matured in her lyrics not flat-linned. Her voice is cool I wish she just had better songs. These songs are like all the rest of the gibberish you herare on the radio.
-
-
mikes.Sep 9, 2006A horrible album. Beyonce has great talent, the problem with this album is that it is unfocused and lacks modern production. The production is so lackluster and the producer failed to modernize beyonce with the times. Instead the album sounds exactly like her previous album except not as good or as fresh.
-
-
MichelleKApr 13, 2007Not a great album to be honest. There are glimpses of the Beyonce I know and love (Upgrade U, Ring The Alarm, Irreplaceable) but otherwise not the greatest.
-
-
redsOct 10, 2006i find it rather irritating that beyonce has done to her sophomore album.... its like so... over rated, and its not even good....
-
-
kazbSep 6, 2006While she is trying to be cutting edge the songs just don't work. She screeches, she bleats and overall its terrible work. Almost one dimensional. The songs sound the same.
-
-
lionelbSep 6, 2006a terrible album
-
-
cleanerSep 6, 2006The first thing that grabed me about this album is the name. B-DAY just reminds me of that european bathroom Accessory the Bidet ( pronounced BDAY here in the UK, and they are for washing your bum hole) and strangly enough the album also has the same effect as a BDAY
-
-
smSep 12, 2006cutting edge? i dont think so. creative? NO! just not worth listening to.

-
-
daniellesSep 15, 2006The album seems rushed, and a far cry from the Dangerously in Love. I don't see any growth in this album. The songs lack the maturity of her debut album.

Jun 29, 2011My favourite Beyonce album, omg this is so perfect. I don't even have afavourite track 'cause they're all so perfect. She is my favourite artist!!!!!!
-
Dec 15, 2013Incorporating elements of Candomblé in his music, Beyoncé makes another major disaster, poorly produced songs and lackluster lyrics, B'Day souounds like an album that Janet Jackson could do when were with diarrhea.
-
Nov 11, 2015a clear copy of which she had already been doing since his time of the group with their backs, dancing scolding wig and fan, nothing innovative to deserve a green note, all I see is too bright and little content.
-
Sep 16, 2020Este álbum no se merece tener tan buenas criticas porque es un álbum normal sus letras y mensajes repetitivos y nada innovador sus melodías y sonidos igual.
-
anonymousSep 6, 2006Her singles Deja Vu and Ring the Alarm sound like Dangerous in Love copycats/garbarge. Not as great as a job on the first album. But the other songs make up for the damage. Plus she gets points because she is so F********** HOTTTTTTTT!! OMG. Her cover album pics are enough to buy the album even if she didn't have any songs. Buy, or at least copy the album booklet.

JamarOSep 20, 2006Weak album. Boring, rushed, and definitely forgettable. I think Beyonce is under the impression the public will lap up anything she puts out, and in some ways she is right. Still doesnt change the fact that the album is barely listenable the whole way through, even though it is short. Even 10 minutes of this is too much.
-
-
SandersCSep 2, 2006The production is weak. A couple more weeks of recording could of made this album a masterpiece.

LisaMSep 2, 2006I love this album, Beyonce is truly coming into her own. While the CD is not perfect her vocals are perfect. She has really grown vocally. Musically its coming together I would have liked for her to work with other producers and writers but thats ok. I think all in all she delivered a fun album with great vocals. Definitely a step up since the DIL era. Go Beyonce!
-

SpeedSep 5, 2006This CD attacks you with one hot song after the next. Beyonce leaves behind the balladry of Dangerously in Love and shows her angry, jealous side. And it looks good on her.

QTSep 6, 2006I thought the album would have been much better. I think she needs to stick to ballads. I dislike most of the album and it's definitely no comparison to Dangerously In Love. I expected much more but she's still my girl.
-
-
NathanWSep 6, 2006The album is surprisingly good. Where "Crazy In Love" failed with many fillers and bland songs, "B'Day" shows that Beyonce is eclectic, and is one of the most talented r&b artists of our time. The best album in its genre since "The miseducation of Lauryn Hill".

KEVINRSep 9, 2006Thank you Beyonce, you have inspired me to keep striving and pushing to be the best. This album is absolutely amazing. The vocals are awesome and the creativity is out of this world. TNGOct 11, 2006To all of the Haters, B-Day is the truth, Although I was a little thrown when I first purchased the album because I wasn't listening, but after a few minutes, I new that B-day was all B!!!! I love "Upgrade You" and "Irrepalceable". The album is ingenius and all it takes is an open mind and an open ear to hear that Beyonce is ahead of her class.

TashCOct 13, 2006This is a brilliant album . Don't listen to the haters. Despite the fact the album lacks the slow songs that show off the power of her voice, The album shows a cool, sexy, confident side to Beyonce. And no matter what the haters say, no one can deny that this chick can still beat the hell out of the competition!!!!
-
-
RyanVOct 15, 2006This album is amazing on several different levels yet doesn't deliver on over all continuity. through outl I was left with one wish; I wanted to see more songs like Irreplaceable which is haunting and beautiful.

ArtMDec 4, 2006Must have been working too hard on Dreamgirls to pay attention to this. Also, it is the shortest release I've seen in a while. Liitle quantity and quality. Come on B, you're so much better than this. Listen to some divas and put your talent to use

Awards & Rankings
-
Whereas Beyoncé's debut was accomplished in its diversity, albeit a sure sign of a new solo artist trying to find her voice, B'Day sounds like the album "Crazy In Love" initially forecasted.
-
BlenderB'Day never cools down, and swaety up-tempo numbers prove the best platform for Beyonce's rapperly phrasing and pipe-flaunting fireballs. [Sep 2006, p.138]
-
Apart from a few pop-R&B space-fillers, there's not much to dislike about B'Day.
