The track list is, admittedly, a little dull. Luckily, the singing isn't.
  2. The match between Bennett and Gaga winds up quite differently from the one between the master and k.d. lang in 2002. Those two created a more sober and mature affair. By contrast, the duets with Gaga give Bennett a whole new hold on youth.

Their respective styles are occasionally at odds, but to amusing effect.

On Cheek to Cheek, Gaga justifies his [Tony Bennett's] faith--sometimes a bit too forcibly. Whereas Bennett is a master of restraint--a guy whose best performances play like melodic chat sessions--Gaga thrives on spectacle.

If you take this album in the spirit of throwaway fun in which it seems to have been concocted, it is harmlessly engaging, although all of these tracks have been delivered more persuasively before.

She sometimes blasts away at these songs rather than relaxing into them. But on challenges like the subtle Billy Strayhorn ballad "Lush Life," the queen of the little monsters more than proves she can be a sophisticated lady too.

Shallow, deeply unimaginative renditions [of standards out of the Great American Songbook].

I was never into jazz but this album had me curious of the genre, now I would even consider listening to jazz on a regular basis. Gaga andI was never into jazz but this album had me curious of the genre, now I would even consider listening to jazz on a regular basis. Gaga and Tony's voices produce such a magic in this piece of work, you can tell there's great chemistry between them. We all know Tony Bennett has an impressive voice but some don't know that the same goes for Lady Gaga. Her rich vocals elegantly swifts you into the beauty of the music, like it's dancing with you. It's truly stunning. Such a flawless album. Expand

We all already knew Mr Bennett was talented, but it was impressive to hear how perfectly Gaga's voice suits this genre. Together they are divine. This collection of American jazz standards is one of the best you'll ever listen to. Highlights from the album include Nature Boy, Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye, Firefly and It Don't Mean a Thing. My edition from iTunes came with the bonus track, Bang Bang, which demonstrates Gaga's incredible vocals and is one of the best performances on the album. Expand
