Jun 8, 2018Good album from a band that is past their prime. Oh, how I long for the days of Before These Crowded Streets and Crash. This newest effort does seem more inspired than the last two efforts but i don't see DMB climbing back to the level of their early years' energy and fervor.

Jun 18, 2018Dave Matthews Band sounds best when it’s weird; the bummer on these songs is how bored the band sounds. But even as a cadre of producers smoothes out the band’s crunchiest tendencies, glimpses of the DMB’s ambitious musicianship shine through. These outliers aren’t always successful.

Jun 7, 2018Mr. Matthews has decided he’s not going to be the grumpy old man he sings about in Come Tomorrow, but he doesn’t sugarcoat things either; each song notes the fears and sorrows it’s determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms.

Jun 7, 2018Without Tinsley nor the late LeRoi Moore, Dave Matthews Band doesn't seem as loopy or rangy as it did in its prime, yet this leaner sound suits a middle-aged Matthews who is comfortable in his skin yet restless in his mind.
