Awesome album. I haven’t listened much country for few years but this album is dragging me back to country music. I ordered the vinyl right away after the first song finished. Waiting for an acoustic album on vinyl.

    "A standard heartbreaking country album"

It's a nice album, but a standard one. Nothing new unless of a few exceptions.

This is like the breakup album that I didn't know I needed. I have to say, I wasn't a huge fan of him till now, what a phenomenal album, also I begin following him on social media and he's a decent person which I believe is reflect it on his music. Lyrically speaking, it's an A+.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love the vocals and the production. There's a minimal sounding pop on some tracks which makes it good. I also love the songwriting especially with 865, Your Bartender, Only Thing That's Gone, and Quittin' Time. There were just some dead air tracks like Beer Don't. So far, this is the best country album of 2021. Expand

Overall, Dangerous: The Double Album is nothing more than a standard heartbreak country album. The obvious issue with the album is the sheer amount of tracks featured, which leaves the few standout tracks lost within a sea of mediocre standard country heartbreak songs.

Standout Tracks - Wonderin' Bout The Wind, 7 Summers & Quittin' Time.

Amazing album. After listening to “Don’t Think Jesus” I have a lot of hope for the next album whenever it may be. Hoping for some cool features as well. Can’t wait!

Nice album, nothing special. Surely not the hype it is getting either. Which I am guessing is more for his scandals' than his music. Obviously some stand out tracks like 7 Summers. But want to know what you're missing? He lost the girl and drank whisky. All day and all night. In like ALMOST every single track. But that is half of country music. i have to say i was caught off guard. I enjoyed this album thoroughly. I did not expect this as the album is quite lengthy (30 songs- MORE THAN 90 MINUTES) but somehow Morgan pulls it off. He has an incredible voice and his vocal performance is impressive throughout. The songs are mostly short, sweet and well written, even when the production sometimes feels generic or underwhelming hei have to say i was caught off guard. I enjoyed this album thoroughly. The themes of love, heartbreak and alcohol are prevalent throughout the album and he also mentions his hometown a few times. Its a great album, i personally love Wasted on You, Somebody's Problem,865, Neon Eyes, More than Hometown, Somethin' Country and the remake of Heartless is off the freaking charts. Loved it Expand

Overall, most of these songs are absolute smash hits. If you are looking for trendy catchy country songs this would be the album for you. This is as close as you can get to an album that has one of everything talking about girls, heartbreak, party, and drinking, to everyday problems. While there is no bad songs on this album, most of the songs are very basic country songs talking about trucks and heartbreak. Nothing revolutionary is happening here just a lot of the same type of vibe that country has set for the past two decades. Wallen goes a little out of his range in some songs stretching his to limits for some songs while others are in his wheelhouse. Country songs that are slower and lyrics where he can belt are his wheelhouse. Songs that are more upbeat with a little bit of pop mixed are not so much. Expand

Dangerous is most affecting when Wallen’s husky, emotive voice does the heavy lifting. ... The flaws of Dangerous, apart from being 17 songs too long, is that Wallen does not always seem up to the heavy task of pumping fresh life into well-worn topics.

He never pushes too hard, yet he has a light touch, so he sounds as comfortable sliding into a wall of digital sound as he does singing with just an acoustic guitar or two. This gift justifies the considerable length of Dangerous: The Double Album as all the sheer variety proves Wallen can indeed convincingly sing just about any modern country style.

Though Wallen’s idea was to split the album according to theme, things aren’t quite as delineated as that. Even at his most boisterous, Wallen is given to introspection, and he can make the straightest love song gnarly.
