    "A standard heartbreaking country album"

It's a nice album, but a standard one. Nothing new unless of a few exceptions.

Overall, Dangerous: The Double Album is nothing more than a standard heartbreak country album. The obvious issue with the album is the sheer amount of tracks featured, which leaves the few standout tracks lost within a sea of mediocre standard country heartbreak songs.

Standout Tracks - Wonderin' Bout The Wind, 7 Summers & Quittin' Time.

Nice album, nothing special. Surely not the hype it is getting either. Which I am guessing is more for his scandals' than his music. Obviously some stand out tracks like 7 Summers. But want to know what you're missing? He lost the girl and drank whisky. All day and all night. In like ALMOST every single track. But that is half of country music. Can't blame him for following what worksNice album, nothing special. Surely not the hype it is getting either. Which I am guessing is more for his scandals' than his music. Dangerous is most affecting when Wallen’s husky, emotive voice does the heavy lifting. ... The flaws of Dangerous, apart from being 17 songs too long, is that Wallen does not always seem up to the heavy task of pumping fresh life into well-worn topics.

He never pushes too hard, yet he has a light touch, so he sounds as comfortable sliding into a wall of digital sound as he does singing with just an acoustic guitar or two. This gift justifies the considerable length of Dangerous: The Double Album as all the sheer variety proves Wallen can indeed convincingly sing just about any modern country style.

Though Wallen’s idea was to split the album according to theme, things aren’t quite as delineated as that. Even at his most boisterous, Wallen is given to introspection, and he can make the straightest love song gnarly.
