The sound on Decency is truly an adventurous move for the group, and one that's paid off with possibly their best album to date.

There's undoubtedly something there with Frankie--those effortless, skippy choruses aren't as easy to do as they seem. But he and his Heartstrings haven't quite found their true north yet.

Like their previous records, Decency is at its best when Heartstrings are indulging their knack for straight up, grin-on-its-face pop music.

This album is catchy. There is nothing wrong with writing catchy songs. Melody matters. Listenability matters. But this album feels like priority was put on making sure there were hooks in each song instead of letting the songs form organically.
