only decent song is MAMA and that's lowkey because of Nicki and Kanye. Wish he would try a different style of rapping rather than just screaming.

This is pretty awful. If this is the future of hip hop, hip hop is in a bad place. A lot of the time he's barely even rapping, he's just screaming. It's just awful. The beats are bottom tier too. He doesn't have any impressive wordplay or good introspective lyrics, it's just trash.

6ix9ine doesn't need more than five tracks to prove to us his total lack of artistic devotion and sense of rhyme. I admit that production can sometimes be outstanding as in 'MAMA' or in 'TIC TOC' but is way more often utterly redundant as in 'BEBE' or in 'FEFE'. Right now you may probably think that I am trying to invoke some demon or playing some childish game by scandering all these6ix9ine doesn't need more than five tracks to prove to us his total lack of artistic devotion and sense of rhyme. Right now you may probably think that I am trying to invoke some demon or playing some childish game by scandering all these unknown words. But I'm not, I'm just citing titles of diverse tracks on the album. The choice to only put two-syllable words as titles of tracks is for me the inescapable sign of the limits of 6ix9ine's thinking and ambitions. This project oozes laziness, inconsistency and immaturity from every hole. I'm citing 6ix9ine himself if you do not believe me:

"Y'all gotta move, give me some room, I'm 'bout to shoot
Boom! Everybody runnin' out the room
    Boom! Everybody beggin' "Don't shoot"
Boom! **** who the **** asked you?
You a bum, are you dumb? Try me, I got this gun
    Run, **** if I'm here, don't come
**** you was expectin' for me to hit
    That's a dub, I know you put a hole in that ****

(That's his first verse on 'WAKA (feat. A Boogie Wit da Hoodie)'). All along the project you keep that level of lyricism. All along the project we swim in the swampy and smelly waters of vulgarity and toxic masculinity. All along the project you are accompagnied by scadalous 6ix9ine's verses and awful voice. Hopefully he had the decency to put a lot of featured artists to join him in his selfish and self-centered violent bath of crap. Well - I suppose I could have deducted it from the level of inspiration and maturity oozing from the artwork cover...

This project is all about women, monay and superficiality. I truly didn't expected much from this but still was disappointed. So just go listen to 'MAMA' once or twice to harvest all the happiness and interest you could find in 'DUMMY BOY' and then please, for your sake, run away.

by far one of the the worst albums i’ve ever heard. the production sounds alright but it doesn’t make up for the thoughtless lyrics and basic but still unlistenable sound. the best part about this album was nicki’s verse on “FEFE”, in-fact it was the only somewhat enjoyable part of the album. every song is pretty much about the same thing and half of the his verses are just the n word overby far one of the the worst albums i’ve ever heard. the production sounds alright but it doesn’t make up for the thoughtless lyrics and basic but still unlistenable sound. the best part about this album was nicki’s verse on “FEFE”, in-fact it was the only somewhat enjoyable part of the album. every song is pretty much about the same thing and half of the his verses are just the n word over and over and over again. no songs on the album have any kind of deep meaning and it seems no thought was put into any of them at all. it’s basic but also hard to listen to/enjoy at best. in conclusion, this is a tasteless, horrific abomination. This album is the most mediocre piece of work I've ever heard, it is literally full of generic boring songs, the lyrics are probably the worst lyrics I've ever heard on any rap album

6ix9ine might be the funniest rapper ever in social media, but what can you expect? His first album is garbage and it's easily can be described as annoying, vulgar, and retarded with no thematic significance whatsoever. Gucci Mane, Wacka Flocka Flame, and Chief Keef does it better than this rainbow headed clowb by delivering a killer soundtrack that bangs quite well.

A lot of bangers on this album. One of my favorite guilty pleasure listens and 6ix9ine enlists the perfect features on this one, especially Gunna on "FEEFA" and Kanye and Nicki Minaj on "MAMA."

    I love this tape !
Better than Day69. He showed all his rapping abilities and I liked it. He could've left BEBE and MALA, but other than that.. A great project.

this is the most underrated album of this decade its so many good tracks with a lot of deep messages and his word play and punchlines is on point how can everyone hate it so much this album is for sure better than to "to pimp a butterfly" and it also has a lot of good flows and he shows he really can spit and that nobody can **** with him and eminem is afraid of him

This album makes me wish the leak wouldn't have happened and caused 69 to force the release of the album. The story goes is.. I downloaded the leak and was even hYpEd at the moment and everyone who heard the leak was calling it 'fire' when going for a piss in the bathroom at school a few days prior to its release. After a few hours and coming home an entire say since I listened to it a good few times it seemed clear that a few songs with good production cannot save a rushed and talentless over featured album when it's on the same underwhelming, ear bleeding, loud, hot garbage the rest of the album is. Half the songs are merely memes, the single 'STOOPID' features a meme, two stereotypical latino pop trap songs, and two Kanye features who at the time is being constantly memed about as much as the likes of Mr. six-nine. There was another confusing song that left me laughing over how when listening to it I had liked but hearing an unfamiliar voice just to realize that it was the first time I've heard 69 rap normally if not opposite of how he raps and brought me back to how this album is just built on production, loudness, and hype, that there's is like no direction on the record. It's a culmination of songs for a radio station playing Trippie Redd or for any h y p e b e a s t s still listening to mobamba. I can't lie, Kanye and a third of the production was pretty good but ruined behind 69s screaming ego. The album was ass before it even released, Expand

Dummy Boy has a handful of highlights, but 6ix9ine barely shows up for many of the tracks, leaving them to be made or broken by the features.

Dummy Boy would be better if it was worse. 6ix9ine doesn’t show any sign of knowing how to write a complete song, let alone curate a whole album. But he’s also too unimaginative to write anything so jaw-droppingly awful that it needs to be heard to be believed.

Dummy Boy is unlikely to disappoint 6ix9ine fans, but for everyone else, there's little to back up the hype and controversy associated with the self-professed "King of New York."
  3. 20
DUMMY BOY is an insufferable 13-track farrago of anything from rock riffs to calypso drums, all pinned by 6ix9ine’s obsessive use of the “n” word, along with every other negative trope found in the gangsta rap of the early Noughties. ... Avoid.
