Eternity of Dimming is a beautiful, nostalgic (in the best meaning of the word) hymn to time and place, a long suite of songs that falls together like a wonderful quilt of memories.

This very fine third album carries much of Okkervil River or The Decemberists in its piquant narratives, though the banjo-led music is more akin to the erudite hillbilly-folk of Jim White or even The Be Good Tanyas. [Apr 2013, p.73]

For an album that successfully manages to carry an understated beauty, and often comes across as a fragile work, Eternity Of Dimming almost does it all without doing near as much as others would attempt to.

Unbalanced and unrelenting, it's a fascinating album, if difficult to enjoy. [Apr 2013, p.90]

The band is tight and talented, but while each song is surprising, the album doesn’t vary enough over the course of its length.

An onslaught of lyrical prose is delivered in this double album, a challenging work to digest, but full of creativity and clever imagery. An onslaught of lyrical prose is delivered in this double album, a challenging work to digest, but full of creativity and clever imagery. While the themes of childhood memory and obsolescence aren't new topics for Milia, he manages once again to expand on these themes and provides a lens for listeners to reflect on their own lives. Musically, the album is fairly centered, and as others have stated, it would be nice to have seen some more variation. Expand
