Every Where Is Some Where is in turns intimate, expansive, confessional and inviting--thoroughly addictive on the dark, pulsing and urgent ‘Blood In The Cut’, woozily euphoric on ‘High Enough’, playfully political on ‘The President Has A Sex Tape’ and swirling and sultry on ‘You Felt Right’.

In reading the professional reviews, it feels like this is a record that will speak deeply to a segment of the population and bounce right off of others. The record is deeply introspective and naval-gazing in a way that is reminiscent of the aforementioned TwentyOne Pilots. It's also deeply suburban in it's use of lyrics like "I swear to God you don't want to test me" as uttered from a 30 year old woman who looks to be 120 pounds soaking wet. Still, it's the unrepentant naval-gazing that makes the lyrical offerings so compelling. Reminiscent of the best of the 90s and bands like Weezer. Professional critics take aim at the vocal sensibilities of K.Flay and liken her singing voice to a girlish baby-voice. I can't help but feel like they miss that being the secret ingredient. The baby voice amidst the BIG, sinister aural textures creates a listening landscape that feels like Alice In Wonderland, if Wonderland was a menacing city that has little care for a girl with low self-confidence and a habit of giving away pieces of herself to people who don't deserve it.

Every Where Is Some Where really nails the revival of melody in an era where "beats" rein as the singular sign of song writing accomplishment. The tracks also playfully use sound production to play off of the lyrical content of the songs.

Overall, Ever Where Is Some Where is easily on the best albums of the year that i have heard. I look forward to hearing and seeing more of this artist.
