    Sia just made an album, just just for Christmas. An instrumentation decorated with baubles and an annoying repetition of lyrics through the entire album, it doesn't seem to stretch that far with any risk-taking or out-of-the-box ideas she used in 1000 Forms of Fear/This Is Acting. Sadly, it isn't worth anything more than a low 4 to me. However, the calming piano quarter of the way throughSia just made an album, just just for Christmas. An instrumentation decorated with baubles and an annoying repetition of lyrics through the entire album, it doesn't seem to stretch that far with any risk-taking or out-of-the-box ideas she used in 1000 Forms of Fear/This Is Acting.     There’s plenty Sia could do with an album entirely of Christmas originals, but too many are underwritten; there’s more consistency in the art direction than the songwriting.

    They [Sia and Greg Kurstin] bring effervescent energy to dance-minded tracks such as “Santa’s Coming for us” and the Phil Spector-inspired “Candy Cane Lane” while investing real sincerity into more introspective numbers including “Snowflake” and “Underneath the Mistletoe.”
