Something just feels off like this album has no overarching theme at all, it’s messy. The Eurodance wave is long gone. Song after song a soulless and repetitive pounding. Whoever produced this is completely talentless.
The singer herself was never good.

So disappointing. The fact that she proudly says that this mediocre release is her debut album makes it even worse when we've listened to Clarity and the Turn Off The Lights projects and they're by far much better than whatever this is.

Unfortunately, we’ve heard everything already somewhere. I agree with pitchfork. Teenage dream rejects.

Parece um álbum de descarte das músicas da Ava Max. O que faz o álbum ser bom, porém, definitivamente não parece a Kim Petras em momento algum.

Well… there was an attempt. Just generic and boring. Sam Smith saved the album streams.

Whatever good there was in Kim’s artistry is diminished by her actively choosing to work with known predators and abusers (Lukasz Gottwald/Dr. Luke). She is as shallow and fake as this album is lackluster.

As much as Kim Petras was starting to seem like a promising artist, this album shows that she is incapable of escaping the basic pop sound of Dr. Luke's production. 'Feed The Beast' really is just a soulless album built for radio play, and undoes all progress she's made towards becoming a real pop star. Expand

Also rife with a bubbly, '70s funk groove is "Coconuts," whose cheeky, double entendre lyrics not only celebrate Petras' Queer identity, but speak to the playfully flirty, tongue-in-cheek atmosphere she achieves throughout Feed the Beast.

With Feed The Beast she has neither progressed past that nor become a lost cause.

Of course, even the weaker songs have their dance-floor potential. Petras is, above all else, a pure fan of pop music and the feeling it exudes. But in chasing her new status as the type of pop star who has Top 40 potential, she abandoned the freakishly forward-thinking personality that built her a base to begin with. Here, the beast has been tamed.
