The album itself shows a very vulnerable side of Horan, the storyline and everything makes the experience even more enjoyable and interesting.

Expand

This album is much better than Harry Styles "Fine Line", why do I make this comparison? For obvious reasons, but ex 1D.

Niall delivers good lyrics, good music, good voice!

A nice yet unfinished work by Horan. I hope he tries harder next time if he wants to put out something phenomenal.

the best album by a 1d member so far the more you listen to it, the more you cry the melodies the lyric the confident sexy vibe the indie drums in the chorus the violins everything is just a heavenly concept wrapped in the HEARTBREAK WEATHER

A mess... There's nothing original, the production is so claustrophobic and it makes it uncomfortable to listen to. Sometimes I didn't even understand what he was singing and the high notes are terrible and heavily autotuned. Definitely not an improvement.

He's outdone himself with this album. Definitely different than Flicker and filled with so many great and also different songs. A non-skip album.

Niall Horan braves the storm of loss in his sophomore album. He did a great album concept including the artcover, the singles, the music videos, the tracklist reveal, the day by day reveal of some lyrics discovering videos an all social media... He really did a great job with this album, it's more sonically cohesive than whole discographies by other white male artists with guitars. He really did a great job with this album, it's more sonically cohesive than whole discographies by other white male artists with guitars. There is no single skip in this album and from the production to lyrics it's incredible, his voice sounds wonderful and basically the whole album is out of this world. He broke the cursed of the second album and he did it better than his first and debut solo album! I really wish and hope him the best because he truly deserves endless success and love and happiness Expand

With this record Niall proves that he's an artist to keep an eye on. It's versatile, it's emotional and it's uptempo all in one album.

The album has a good sound. On his second album, Niall brought a little more of himself and on each track you can see a little bit of him.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. a fantastic album from what i believe is still a hidden gem in the industry. moving away from folk, ballad and acoustic may have been difficult for niall but he certainly stepped up his game with this album. encroaching on the popular shift to massive 80s pop anthems, heartbreak weather is full to the brim with songs to dance and sing along to. nothing falls short in this album for me. its a 10/10 through and through. What a beautiful album, both sonically and lyrically. I was nervous about Niall moving away from the sound of his first album, but it’s a change that suits him better. “Still” is the best on the album and probably his best of all time.

What a disaster. Cheesy, misogynist lyrics that wouldn't have been out of place in a Liam Payne song (Small Talk). He has four of the 1d songwriters so of course it sounds like a 1d album.

After all the sentimental rigamarole, it’s tough to come away from Heartbreak Weather feeling any closer to Horan. He spends too much of the record bouncing between sounds and songwriting concepts to feel distinct.

There are hints of experimentation, such as Nice to Meet Ya’s swaggering hybrid of Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian, but it’s the excellent title track’s flirtation with glossy, synth-tinged MOR that suggests where Horan might be headed next. Proof that it’s often the quiet ones you need to keep an eye on.
