I love all the tracks and the meaning behind of the song. I already read and understand all the tracks one by one. I know how much effort j-hope put in making this album. I respect him so much. Congratulations jhope on your first solo album. I'll be cheer and rooting for you in the future too.

Jack in the box es el claro ejemplo de que las personas no somos solo de una determinada manera, y agradezco infinitamente que j-hope no haya tenido miedo de mostrar la diversidad musical que vive dentro de él, porque es simplemente fantástica.

I have not stopped listening to this album since it was released. j-hope is such a unique artist - his voice, his lyrics and his flow is something I’ve never heard before. As a big fan of Prince, De Ka Soul, Rage Against the Machine, D’Angelo, David Bowie and BTS, j-hope is up there among the greats. As a live performer, hands down he is the best of the best.

after I listened to Jack in the Box, I realized that it is not a new side of jhope. it is the depiction of his vulnerabilities that we may have overlooked because we only saw his happy and bright side. This album sounded like a confession.

Obsessed doesn’t even describe how I am currently feeling. I love albums that leaves me questioning for hours what my favorite track is, and Jack in the Box falls exactly under that type of album. Its cool to see an artist try so many different sounds and have a tracklist that connects /this/ well. Well done hobi!

I've enjoyed previous music by this artist and was looking forward to Jack In The Box. The first single surprised me; didn't know what to expect. I enjoyed the flow from Safety Zone to Future very much. Have to confess, though, that my favorite is shaping up to be =. At 21 minutes I found it a bit short. Other than that petty complaint, this album is all a concept record should be: cohesive, incisive and eminently entertaining. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Truly outstanding album. The whole concept was amazing, the way each song tells you a story itself and Jung Hoseok connected them together so beautifully, it isn’t easy to do so, yet he had done it. His lyricsm is on another level, he is so poetic and can convey his messages amazingly. Also he managed to put out many different genres, diving into new ones too and showed his ability to go out of the box and try out new things and show different sides of himself. Everything about this album is great, the titles, lyrics, story behind them, sound, genres, everthing. Breathe of fresh air, whilst being raw and vulnerable, showing multiple meanings and stories and music to the ears. J-Hope has done it once again! Expand

He's such a brave artist working on more different approach in production. Also, the flow of this album sonically just totally makes sense, it feels like listening to an audio book. A really great audio book with the most exciting plot.

This album is so well tied together right from the production aspect, the sequence of the songs, and the storytelling. It provides an insight into the beginning of Jhope, his fears, and desire for growth. I'm so glad that Jhope broke out of the box and is embracing new genres and visual elements. Looking forward to more from him.

Whether the music on Jack in the Box suits your taste or not, it’s hard to dismiss this album as an artistic statement rather than just chapter 1/7 of BTS proving they can also make money in ways beyond official group releases.

The artist born Jung Ho-seok delivers emotional depth and irresistible energy. Backed by rowdy production, his aggression, raspy delivery, and tongue-twisting bars take center stage, showcasing the rap-focused perspective that he brings to the BTS formula.

There’s an excellent three track run from “What if…,” an energetic song that samples Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya,” into mid-tempo standout “Safety Zone” before a touch of Hope World familiarity returns in the optimistic “Future.”
