    Kanye reinvents himself in each one of his project and this one finds him in it’s most mature. While I do want him to return making albums like Yeezus and Pablo, this album is revolutionary on it’s own depicting very profound and important subjects people don’t talk enough about. As a Jewish man I don’t connect to the whole ‘Jesus’ thing at all yet I still connect with many of Kanye’sKanye reinvents himself in each one of his project and this one finds him in it’s most mature. While I do want him to return making albums like Yeezus and Pablo, this album is revolutionary on it’s own depicting very profound and important subjects people don’t talk enough about. As a Jewish man I don’t connect to the whole ‘Jesus’ thing at all yet I still connect with many of Kanye’s spiritual and social themes and subjects throughout the album while adjusting them to my own world view. I think it also helps watching Kanye’s recent interviews to see where he’s coming from. I can see however how this album pisses off so many people, Kanye has been doing interviews about same people for around 2 years now. Hopefully in a few years people will see the brilliance in this album, like the brilliant ‘808’s & Heartbreak’. As always with Kanye, the album is sonically masterful and while I wouldn’t consider it as one of his greatest, it’s definitely not a misstep.… Expand

    His album, his rules. It is musically well composed and it clearly exposes how HE feels about God. He’s showing his vulnerability to the world and you’re all making fun of him? That’s just shameful, regardless of what you believe. Hence, do not rate this album negatively purely based on how you feel about Christianity as a whole because that is just discriminating the freedom ofHis album, his rules.     Well we already know that there are going to be plenty of haters that will rate this as a 1/10 without a shred of integrity. They hate Kanye's Christian and conservative values and they hate how he is a fan of Donald Trump. That is all it takes these days to inspire hatred from mass swathes of the population. However, as an objective listener, I found the album to be fun, quirky, andWell we already know that there are going to be plenty of haters that will rate this as a 1/10 without a shred of integrity. However, as an objective listener, I found the album to be fun, quirky, and inspirational. This album legitimately makes me want to become a Christian.
    EDIT: I just went and read the negative reviews. They are such gross exaggerations and you can really tell that most of them are not reviews of the album but of Kanye himself. Vast statements such as "Worst album ever", as if that isn't a totally transparent reviewer. Some reviewers said awful things about Jesus and Christianity....come on! Have some class!    … Expand

    This is Kanye album. It’s an experience that ruffles feathers and shifts the paradigm. That’s why we all come to experience Kanye art. The people rating it down are Supreme dorks who’ve never appreciated the nuisances Kanye puts in his projects, but just that it sounds cool. I stand by this album fully.

    Jesus is King is a beautiful Rap album that includes unity, family, and transcendence through the Christian religion. The production and messaging was truly beautiful. The album makes one want to unite their respective families and put plans together to become truly greater. Closed On Sunday is the song where in the second verse tells anyone against him to remove their hands from his family in a very powerful and compelling way over switch in the beat hypnotic beat in the first half of the song.     Beautiful. In the context of this genre, it's a teaching class. About production this album is the perfect mix of all the musical resources that Kanye from the 00's hadn't available. This is an exquisite performance with expressive lyrics, instrumental majesty and a time-proof personal style.

    I'm not religious but I can feel Kanye's passion for his religion through this album. The production alone makes this a standout in his discography. The lack of drums makes this a dramatic album along with the powerful verses. An instant classic.

Jesus is King has so many elements from Kanye's first two albums with incorporations of not only today's modern Hip-Hop culture but all of his greatest albums melted together with aKanye's, Jesus Is King, is his greatest album to date. While Late Registration held that title, College Dropout held 2nd, 808s & Heartbreak held 3rd, MBDTF held 4th, and Graduation followed in my rankings. Jesus is King has so many elements from Kanye's first two albums with incorporations of not only today's modern Hip-Hop culture but all of his greatest albums melted together with a fantastic touch of gospel that only compliments every other element of the album. The lyrics are ultimately the definition of who Kanye is today and is spoken only as boldly as Kanye could speak but through the most humbling verses he has ever delivered. This project separates itself from all of other Kanye's projects by including everything his albums had before but cutting out all of the extra bulk his albums did not need in the first place. The ego, the language, etc. all was cut out and replaced with what all his albums needed. JESUS. 10/10… Expand

Taylor fans need to stop hating leave this man alone. I don't see Kanye's fans hating on Taylor's album giving unfair ratings.

Kanye really express his devotion to God and Jesus Christ troughout the project; going through how even ‘He’ saved a wretch like him – in Selah – and how hard it is to follow the model of Christ since he’s so perfect – in Follow God –. The production is impeccable, breathtaking – specially inFirst and foremost a gospel album. Don’t expect a lot of bars, punchlines and intricate lyricism. Kanye really express his devotion to God and Jesus Christ troughout the project; going through how even ‘He’ saved a wretch like him – in Selah – and how hard it is to follow the model of Christ since he’s so perfect – in Follow God –. The production is impeccable, breathtaking – specially in tracks like Selah, God Is and Water – showcasing how Kanye hasn’t lost his touch as a producer. The collaborations are on point as well: Ant Clemons, Ty Dolla $ign, Clipse (reunited) and Kenny G. The track On God feats great producing by the super talented Pierre Bourne and a controversial “13th amendment gotta end” line which may be a problem for those that are not aware/educated on the subject. Nothing new in a Kanye project, who is marked with controversial statements and lines throughout his discography. The only let down is the abrupt ending in Jesus is Lord, but it’s no big deal reallty.… Expand

    Kanye did it again he made a Masterpiece and the people disliking it are snakes.

    The songs all sound like they are made in heaven. When I listen to the songs it feels like I'm floating in the air and being blissful on a magical soundscape.

    This album is great. There are two songs where I feel the pacing is off on certain parts, but this album is overall a great work of art! I enjoy it and multiple songs from this album are now on my all-time favorites list. Ye is fervent here like never before and you can feel he's coming straight from the heart so strong you cannot ignore it. --And I don't want to. Songs such as Closed onThis album is great.     Most of the songs in this album are ones you can really feel as you listen to it. Usually I only buy individual songs, rarely do I purchase an entire album. This is one of those rare circumstances where I bought the entire thing because it was just that good.

    Some people have complained that this album does not have fully fleshed out theological ruminations. But that's not what it's meant to have. New and non-Christians can enjoy this and, besides, Ye is a new Christian himself. But tbh "Jesus loves me" is a very deep, commonly known song. Anyone who says otherwise has not explored the depth of that revelation. My point? You will get whatever depth you wish to from the album. But forgetting that weird critic on a metric that's inapplicable to the album, the music itself is well-made and certainly worth purchasing.    … Expand

    Album of the Year. This album is better than what any other artist can put out. People still hate on him as a person and claim that his quality of music is declining, but he’s actually experimenting with new themes and sounds, so all of his albums are unique. He is the greatest artist of all time. “God Is” is a classic track already. That’s Kanye West for you.

    I think that people don't like the album beacuse it's not like his old albums. For me it's pretty okay but i hate that there are some tracks from yandhi that have been scrapped and ruined.

    His reunion with frequent collaborators belies a rich history of discovering and championing new voices. This ostensible distance from which Kanye preaches reveals King’s true tension: Kanye, like Kendrick on DAMN., is asking for our prayers, while also distancing himself from our hands and our mouths. And it doesn’t work. ... He has artistically lost track of his audience and himself in its midst.

    As with every Kanye album, there’s some magnificent production on a majority of “Jesus Is King” courtesy of Pi’erre Bourne, Timbaland and Boogz, among others. ... Kanye just seems like he’s in his own world; disregarding what’s going on around him. Other times, Ye’s writing delves into eyerolling contradictions and ego-driven intentions.
