This is the album of the year! It's so good! I love it because there are so many different music styles and there are tracks like Diamond Heart, A-YO, John Wayne, Dancin' In Circles that you can't stop dancing. CONGRATS GAGA!

Joanne is such a cool album, there is pop, folk, rock, country. It is fun, deep, catchy, inspiring and emotional, it is such a great journey for all of us. I love the way she writes her songs, such a huge talented artist.

The shock artist's new tactic these days seems to be releasing shockingly great music. Joanne features a stellar and seamless dovetail of raw vocals, diverse genres, as well as exceptionally solid songwriting; tracks like "John Wayne" and "Angel Down" shine through an extremely competitive array of musical stompers and heartfelt ballads.

This is simply, her best album yet. Lady Gaga is better then ever, and together with her her music. "Artpop" was overwhelmed and too complicated. On the other hand, "Joanne," is clean, beautiful and simply amazing. Fantastic guitar sounds and the angelic bass. Wow, worth the wait those three years. This album became my favorite :D

Wow, I can see little monsters are trying as usual to massively influence statistics! Truth is, there are a couple a good tunes on Joanne: Sinner's prayer, for instance, is enjoyable. But, overall, their are just too many weak elements on this record which make it rather forgettable.

This is an amazing album where GaGa proves an other time she is a versatile artist. First the jazz adventure with Tony Bennett and now Joanne where she experiments with country and folk influences. The album features some amazing heartfelt moments like Angel Down and title track Joanne, as-well fun tracks like Dancin' In Circles and A-Yo.

"Perfect illusion" - an unfortunate choice of lead single. The song is good, but no more. Compared with other songs in an album, it is rather weak. The meaning is quite simple - we had a love Gaga, and she was blind. 9/10

"Hey Girl" - it's just something unreal. Gaga duet with Florence. Easy song, his mesmerizing music and lyrics. Suffice it tightly ingrained in memory. 10/10

"Diamond Heart" - a reflection of a great many people in our time. This story Stephanie, who has found love, but also managed to lose it. 10/10

I am happy she's finally being herself in this era. All the music, lyrics and her voice in this album are all her true feelings, which bring us to her real heart. This is what artists do, they don't just sing or make songs to let you dance & shake your heads, but they deliver their feelings and faith in their works.

Joanne is the polar opposite of ARTPOP in every way; it's more accessible, more cohesive, more vulnerable. The experimentation isn't as obvious and in-your-face, and it comes through with more genuine moments and thought-provoking themes than its predecessor. Admittedly, Joanne is better than I expected, with a few good songs like Joanne and Perfect Illusion, but it still leaves much to be desired. It's a mishmash of so many different styles, like soft rock, 12 bar blues, folk, western, '60s bubblegum pop, etc., and it really seems like Gaga has no idea what she's doing. There's no unifying theme or vision to this album like there was on ARTPOP and Born This Way. It's just a collection of random, halfway decent tunes, with almost none of the brilliance that Gaga is known for. Overall, Joanne has some redeeming parts, but it's disappointing coming from one of the most iconic pop stars of the current generation. Expand

This new musical direction seems to be a culmination of everything Gaga has done throughout the years, while keeping a cool, folk rock sound consistent throughout the album. The production value and writing on this album is probably her best yet. Mark Ronson and team worked very well with her.

Creatively, Joanne’s risks pay off spectacularly.

Joanne’s biggest surprise is “Come to Mama,” a deliriously fun, cheeky take on the Can’t We All Just Get Along and Pray for World Peace anthem that has been falling in and out of favor since the ’60s. However "John Wayne" it is a great song too, along with "Diamond Heart" and "Angel Down".

Lady GAGA is changed but in a good way. When I heard the lead single, "Perfect Illusion" I was like it is going to be her best album ever. Her vocals became better. This Gaga type is great. She is still uniqe and different.

I really wonder why she chose to take two of the (imo) weakest songs as first singles... Million reasons and perfect illusion do not match up to the majority of the songs. Apart from those two (and maybe the ultimately not-so-necessary-yet-still-nice-to-listen-to bonus tracks), all of the tracks are solid 8-10s.

Favs: Diamond Heart, Sinner's Prayer, Dancin' in Circles, Joanne

Joanne is a stylistic change for Gaga, but it often works better than you could even imagine. With a distinct midwest sound, the album marks a new period of Gaga, one that is near and dear to who the real Lady Gaga is.

    THIS IS SO PERFEEEEEEEEECT!
The album is a ALBUM OF THE YEAR. NO NO NO, THE ALBUM THE DECADE! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH AND EVERYTHING!

This is more than a statement that she is a singer, it has been proven and here we have a restatement! Lady Gaga can go from a simple Soul for an electrifying Rock, a country hit for exaggerated sounds of Pop!

truly the artist of our generation - willingly to reinvent with each era.

Her past albums exposed certain sides of her through fantasy/conceptual standpoints. With 'Joanne' it's 100% her without any overarching concept. This album is about healing and turning negative feelings into positive ones. She's going to be remembered for always switching it up and never catering to the radio or music machine.

Anyone who says they miss 'the old Gaga' doesn't realize that this IS the old Gaga. Bonus track 'Just Another Day' sounds exactly like the material she recorded from 2006-2008. She's not a one trick pony.

Don't box her in. If you want disco/electronic Gaga—go listen to one of the past FOUR albums. She's done plenty of that. And I still love it. But allow her to grow and realize this really IS her. This album is still full of her absurdities and quirks. It's just more understated and blended through out.

Gaga will be around for a long time and will always 'take you there'. People need to admit that not many contemporaries can switch it up as effortlessly as her. She's a musician who truly knows songwriting and can play instruments, produce, and perform incredibly well live.

If this album doesn't prove to naysayers she's talented, I don't think anything will. Some people will always find something to hate on. But hating on Gaga is so tiresome and uninteresting at this point.

The bigger the star, the bigger the target.

Album standouts: Diamond Heart, John Wayne, Dancin' In Circles, Sinner's Prayer, Angel Down, Hey Girl.

Lady Gaga's best album in five years. She shows maturity and artistic growth in all of the eleven songs and the bonus tracks are good enough to have made the standard ed. All in all, a solid body of work with universal appeal. Worth at least one listen.

Cada canción esta oxigenada con las mas simples y dolorasas historias que le otorgan la clase de alma y pasión que solo una voz unica como la de Gaga puede lograr. An eclectic and well thought out album, that combines Lady Gaga's raw vocal power and Mark Ronson's heavy-weight production value. The songs are Written by Gaga, unlike other pop-stars who need 50 people to complete one song. Excellent album, deserves Grammys.

Gaga is the only artist of our generation to really try things and always try to get herself out of the pop box. I can only admire that (especially as a songwriter myself). All the songs have their own universe, it sounds really organic and natural and Gaga is having the time of her life on some songs and she breaks my heart on others (Joanne, Million Reasons, Angel Down, Grigio Girls). I wish her well with this record because she deserves to get good things. Expand

Joanne tells the story of a young New York girl whose happiness, sadness, tragic life experiences, and motivations are so relatable and carried through her music. This album is an ode to her later aunt, Joanne, whom Gaga believes would've wanted to spread messages of love, compassion, and self-care to the world if she were to be alive today. She does all that with this album and still manages to keep every song memorable, catchy, and plain gorgeous. I will for sure purchase a vinyl copy once it's available for those days when I want to relax and sing-along with my close friends. This is Gaga like we've never seen or heard her before, with no hard to understand lyrics or outfits. It's Gaga wanting to reflect her desired world in her music: easy, loving, and deep. I have been her fan since The Fame and I can tell you that it's refreshing to see an artist be capable of successfully reinventing herself and her sound. This album does not resemble her previous hits like Just Dance and Poker Face, but it does remind me of her less popular ballads. This is music that the world needs right now and will soon come to appreciate. Tracks on this album will make you smile, cry, and think deep about what our relationships with others and ourselves mean. Expand

The most intimate album of her, it feels like you're meeting the real and vulnerable Stefani. It has a good dose of emotions (see Joanne, Million Reasons, Angel Down), energy (A-YO, Perfect Illusion, John Wayne), poppiness (Diamond Heart, Dancin' In Circles) and other original moments (Hey Girl, Sinner's Prayer, Come To Mama). It can grant a cathartic experience, if you let it pour into your soul.

Here is a review of the 5 songs I enjoyed the most on the album:

    5. Dancin in Circles

For you fans nostalgic for 2009, Dancin in Circles was made for you. Little sister of LoveGame for its sexual tone and of Alejandro for its latino atmosphere, Dancin in Circles is an infernal track that will keep you awake until the early hours on the dancefloor... or in bed touching yourself. Even though Dancin in Circles seems to be related to Gaga's former big hits, Stefani's musical and artistic evolution is undeniably noticeable. Either for its hybrid genre of pop, house and country, or for the raw, fierce vocals she is serving, we recognize Stefani's artistic growth. The message is clear: she is back in a better place than never before!

    4. Come To Mama

This song is one of the most surprising tracks on Joanne. Come to Mama is a song with jazz and country sonorities that unexpectedly fills your soul with satisfaction and joy. The lyrics are simple and repetitive but relatable, the instrumental track is authentic, reminding us of a time of innocence and simplicity we may not even have been witness of. Come To Mama is a song that showcases Gaga's ability for making great still humble songs. We can see the undeniable impact her Grammy-winning jazz album Cheek to Cheek has had upon her art.

    3. John Wayne

John Wayne is a furious, transcendent rock song with a crazy, psychotic EDM-like chorus. With John Wayne, Gaga introduces us to the wildest part of her new alter ego Joanne. The song tells Gaga's love story with a bad boy called John Wayne. You may wonder why John Wayne sounds surprisingly similar to the album title track Joanne, at least I do!

    2. Million Reasons

This song may be the most emotional ballad Stefani has ever released next to Dope or Til It Happens To You. With Million Reasons, Lady Gaga is no longer afraid to show us her most vulnerable self. It is hard to keep oneself from crying when her raw, cracking voice screams and begs for "another reason to stay." The line "But Baby I'm bleeding, bleeding" may be one of the most heartbreaking in Gaga's whole ballads catalogue. Hillary Lindsey's backing vocals are the cherry on top of the cake. In a nutshell, Million Reasons may be Gaga's most moving, earnest and relatable songs she has ever released on an album.

    1. Angel Down

Angel Down is the title of the wonderful, heavenly, poignant yet tragic song that ends the musical experience of the album. Originally produced by RedOne and finished by Mark Ronson, Angel Down showcases what three music geniuses are capable of when talents are reunited. With Angel Down, Gaga brings us up high in Heaven to tell us a woeful story about humanity. The minimalistic instrumental track and Stefani's melancholic, pure vocals lead us somewhere in outer space to make us think about our human experience. The Work-Tape Deluxe version of the song is the actual demo on which Gaga frees her more chaotic self to express her most inner pains.

Other worthwhile songs: Diamond Heart, Joanne and Griogio Girls.

The best way to describe it on a first listen is its a mix between her earlier stuff and her new style jazz stuff. You can tell she wants tobreak away and be a real musician and artist. Even if the tone is mixed there is still some good stuff here even if it needs more work.

Unfortunately, therein lies the biggest problem with Joanne: for every time that Gaga seemingly breaks free of her shackles and embraces something more “real,” she quickly scuttles back into her comfort zone and hides behind glistening production. This probably isn’t quite the sound of the real Stefani Germanotta, but if you squint hard enough there’s a semblance of a real person in amongst the pop haze.
