Kidal is first and foremost a kick-ass, spirited rock 'n' roll album that demands to be heard far beyond any 'World Music' specialist interest circles.

Exactly the sort of angry rebel rock you want from a band with their backs it the walls and foes on all sides. [Apr 2017, p.96]

This is Kidal: rugged beauty, destruction and loss, and resilience. Kidal doesn’t sound like a fight. There are such gentle moments mixed in with the bittersweet and so many steady rhythms that move each track forward.
