Heartfelt guitar rock capable of punching you in the gut and patting you on the back. [Aug 2003, p.114]
  2. Catchy yet intense guitarwork, intricate rhythms, soft and hard moments, and layers of Shehan's amazing voice - it all combines to create one amazing album.
  3. Polished and tight in all the right places.
  4. A charged and melodic album full of anthemic choruses, hummable verses, and passionate rock.
  5. Despite the ubiquitous lackluster second half, and some weak tracks scattered throughout, the opening triple-threat supersedes them.
  6. Gratifying both in spite of and because of its slickness.
  7. A solid set of rock songs that hovers somewhere between the professionalism of Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American and your favorite slice of homegrown emotion.
  8. Magnet

Much of the material is mid-tempo and occasionally bland, but in its best moments... Kill Them With Kindness soars. [#60, p.105]
  9. Filter

Special moments are few and far between. [#8, p.109]
  10. This band's playing is so tight you wonder if the members aren't cogs in a machine.

on scale of "suck to 1" i'd put them pretty close to 1. gorgeous voice, layered guitars, really fly beats, and an organ. all that lacks on scale of "suck to 1" i'd put them pretty close to 1. gorgeous voice, layered guitars, really fly beats, and an organ. all that lacks is the sunbeam in which to curl up - my nirvana has cometh.
