‘Lament’ packs a truly heavy punch. There’s a crispness to the production that highlights every drum beat and crashing riff, providing the backdrop to Jeremy’s introspective lyrics.

Lament is testament to the power held in each new day, and the moments to be discovered within, delivered with crushing passion by a band worth standing behind.

For a band spooked by their status as role models, Touché Amoré still can’t help but lead by example.

This is the band’s most engaging and expansive musical outing to date.
  5. This isn’t merely a record by a good band. This is a record by an important one that is now teetering on the edge of greatness.

Stage Four was a momentous release that found ways to musically express its heart-wrenching story. Lament feels more like Touché Amoré's essential form.

Few moments aside, what you get from Lament is, by and large, what has come to be expected from Touché Amoré: guitar playing that moves from booming riffs to crisp, melodic lines, earnest first-person narratives from Bolm, and a bagful of quotable lyrics.

The emotion packed into every tiny moment, the raw aggression, the unrelenting lyrics, the absolutely crushing production. This album is special. This feels like the album that shoots a wildly deserving band into massive stardom. It takes everything that as always been good and amps it up to 15. And every rough edge has been smoothed out to create the sound of beautiful and harsh realities that will punch you in the emotional stomach and make you want to cry until you pass out but also makes you know you are not alone and you can fix the things you need to. It is just simply incredible. Expand

Their singer has a heart on sleeve, poignant but angry vocals. Their drummer did a great job on the album. It wouldn't be wrong to say that this is affecting music and also I really loved aggressive trash metal rhythms like in "savoring", and emotional ups and downs on songs like "a broadcast", "a forecast". One of the memorable rock music of 2020. Expand
