    Despite these quibbles, there’s a definite sense on Life By Misadventure of a major step up from Human. It’s a conscious move to move Rag’n’Bone Man up to the level of the likes of Michael Kiwanuka and Ray LaMontagne – if he carries on at this trajectory, he’ll have a career to rival them both.

    His tendency to hurl the same emotional intensity into every syllable (loud, soft, high, low, new idea or repetition) gets wearing. It doesn’t help that the melodies are often simplistic to the point of forgettable and the production seldom leaves a space unfilled.

    Rag 'n' Bone Man is making some odd choices with his career and I think he's shooting himself in the foot here with a pretty middle of theRag 'n' Bone Man is making some odd choices with his career and I think he's shooting himself in the foot here with a pretty middle of the road album. I mean, it's ok, but it can get repetitive and boring at times however behind it is a man with an incredible voice who has shown in the past that he can make songs that have an edge and character to them. Personally I think he needs to go back to that otherwise he risks disappearing completely.… Full Review »

    Good album but lucking some adventure. Repetitive at times but he sings with his heart.
