Lookout Low provides 10 outstanding tracks, each one making clearly apparent the effort put into creating this album was not in vain. This album is certainly going to be tough to beat.

A breezy immediacy wafts through “Dance Through It,” in which a woman steps through a minefield of turmoil, care-free as long as the music’s on. But the album’s vibe is best captured by “Under a Smile,” a slow-burn beauty in which a drifter finds solace in a world that seems to be unraveling. The gentle refrain builds, and one voice melts into a choir.

It’s a slow burner - a passable Twin Peaks album that could, with time, become a great Twin Peaks album, but as of now, we haven’t quite gotten there yet.

It's a breezy and easy listen, as displayed on the melodic shuffle of "Unfamiliar Sun," but there's also a deeply layered approach where stacks of harmonies and melodies interweave gracefully. [Nov 2019, p.33]

Lookout Low is brought to a mellow ending with slow rock song “Sunken II”. The album as a whole has to be Twin Peaks’ most diverse, musically explorative and mature album yet, leaving fans with curiosity and excitement about where the band will go from here.

Strong hooks abound on a true collaborative effort that officially passes the mantle to trad rock.

Cadien Lake James' shifts upfront are the most sonorous for sure. ... Yet at times, as on Colin Croom's "Laid in Gold," which borrows a classic riff wholesale, their sepia-tinted Americana is hugely enjoyable but painfully derivative; at other, less engaging times, they end up sounding more like a poorly angled throwback, as on "Better Than Stoned," which strangely comes across as a little juvenile on record but, happily, is an absolute blast live.
