    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ll just say it. I really dislike the new Taylor swift album lover. My mom taught me to not use the word hate... First off the album is too long. The entire first half sounds the same with no pace change until we get to soon you’ll get better. The opening song I forgot that you existed is a recycled version of this is why we can’t have nice things. With undertones of every other song on reputation. The next half of the album is getaway car with worse lyrics/bridges/choruses. The beautiful song she wrote for her mother is arranged in the exact same way Ronan was. The man lyrics are awful. All of the lyrics pretty much are. I would rate this album 0/10 and will probably never listen to it again. There is no growth here. There are hints of moments. The archer explores themes of a relationship but some of the lyrics in that song pretty much ruin it. “Cut off my nose just to spite my face” anyways I’ve seen virtually no criticisms of this album so here’s my take.… Expand

    This plain sucks, it’s literally formulated pop, it’s bad, good lord I would rather listen to anything else, the fact I listened to this is embarrassing. It’s 100% pop that was generated using a formula that all big pop stars use.

    Lover was a disappointment. First coming out with terrible singles (ME! was one of the worst top 2s of this year), and then disappointing in the album. Despite the four singles I was ready for Taylor to come through with what seemed to be a throwback to 1989. There were two and a half songs I liked on this album: Afterglow, and Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince. Cruel Summer and a fewLover was a disappointment. There were two and a half songs I liked on this album: Afterglow, and Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince. Cruel Summer and a few other songs I began to like somewhat, but after a couple listenings the production and effect Taylor put on her belts and more difficult vocals ruined it for me. The songwriting on some of these songs was phenomenal (Miss Americana) but at times lazy (London Boy on twitter). The album wasn’t cohesive and was way too long for its quality.… Expand

    An abysmal Album experience. Her songwriting has been on a downslide since Red, Lover was an overly long slog and many songs felt the same. I have little desire to return to any of the tracks.
    Both the production and lyrics were lacking but it's at least better than reputation, so she has that going for her.

    The album is trash. No artistic growth, same old bubbly pop sounds with childish lyrics. Why critics praise her is beyond me.

    Album is far too kidzbop!!!! There are a few ok tracks but there is not one fresh idea on this album. This is now the highest rated album after being out 48 hours. This shows just showed how ridiculous that is.

    The best possible sequel for her previous album "reputation". A retro album in every sense: retrospective of he life and retrospective of the style, but still very progressive and new. One of her best albums by far.

    such a let down. Going from an era which was all about becoming a bad girl and changing and letting go of the old Taylor, and then she goes and makes the most bubble gum pop, pink and girly era she has ever had which takes all sincerity and realness out of Reputation and showing it was completely orchestrated and not honest or sincere at all.

    Meandering, lazy, uninteresting pop music lacking all creativity and drive. Succeeds only in having very few catchy moments. There is no deviation in strong structure or development.

    Album just didn’t sound different, basic pop album. These album was overhyped by her fans and it sounded very generic, paper rings’s flow was stolen from Hilary duff’s breathe in breathe out. Overall lackluster album by Taylor Swift, didn’t really expect much but was still disappointed.

    This is even worse than Reputation, which is honestly quite an achievement. There really are no songs that I liked. Some are decent, but most of this album is just garbage, and the fact that it's 18 tracks just makes it even more exhausting.

    Musically, there's nothing even slightly adventurous or creative here. Everything is just by-the-numbers pop music. The songs also lack cohesion.     Lyrically, this is Taylor Swift at her worst. Everything is so literal and straightforward, and there's so much repetition. Me!, You Need to Calm Down, and Paper Rings are perfect examples of this.

    Overall, this failed to meet my already low expectations. It's inoffensive, cookie-cutter pop music, and it honestly sucks. Worst album I've listened to in a long time.    … Expand

    Unfortunately, all of the album's songs sound the same. I can find no artistic growth or variety on her recent albums since they all have the same pop sound (her other album, Reputation, included some surprising -for her style- songs, but that was it).
    The only song I find interesting is miss Americana & the heartbreak prince.

    This album is just not it. I have become a fan of taylor swift after she released 1989, and I also absolutely loved reputation. This album has a lot of repetitive beats and melodies and very weak lyrics compared to taylor’s songwriting talent. A very disappointing work of art. Would not recommend at all.

    Um album cansativo, com sonoridades repetitivas...Isso é o que podemos esperar de Taylor Swift, uma artista cliché, previsível, a mais fabricada que essa indústria já viu, não arrisca, não inova, creio que está na hora de sair de cena e deixar a imagem descansar por longos 7 anos de intervalo na carreira.

    It sounds like Taylor is still in middle school. Very childish. Also, sound like she ripped off Hilary Duff. Hilary needs to sue her for copyright infringement. I wish her music reflected her age now. On her next album, I need more maturity, less 7 grader.

    The Lover album by Taylor Swift is one of her worst, the production kinda sucks, the lyrics are kinda childish, and i swear a couple songs sound the same. I will say this The Man, The Archer, MS&THP , Cornelia Street And London Boy are good songs.

Um álbum sem muita força do que essa artista tem, as suas primeiras 6 músicas são muito 'arrastadas', não tem nenhum ponto alto, a faixa 7 "Miss Americana & The Heartbrak Prince" dá uma esperança de continuar a ouvir o álbum e ser constantemente bom e fluir como seu 4º e 5º álbuns de estúdio, porém a faixa subsequente decai novamente, na minha avaliação, achei que "afterglow" e "you need to calm down" são faixas contagiantes e que chamam a atenção do ouvinte, o restante é bastante morno, infelizmente ela vem decaindo do 1989 para cá!… Expand

    Wow! Lover is really the WORST album of the decade along with Reputation and 1989. and her fans have the audacity to come for other artists artistry.
    and she did all that payola, promo and 4 deluxe versions for this garbage..imagine being this desperate for charts and sales, only Taylor Swift can relate.

    Lover is a fabulous record, full of super-fun standout pop hits that make your heart burst. It oozes with Swift’s much more palatable upbeat sass. She’s in love and also thinking about different kinds of love.
