    Horrible and boring album, she’s so lazy and boring on productions, absolutely NO GOOD VOCALS AT ALL. HORRIBLE SINGING AND AUTOTUNE. TRASH AND LAZY AND BORING. Maybe if she wasn’t opening her legs for 40+ men her music might’ve been better, desperate nasty woman.

    this is definitely one of the most boring albums I've ever listend, and taylor's wort project. it's sad that there are some amazing songs like lover, soon you'll get better, afterglow and cruel summer, lost among a bunch of fillers and boring as hell songs.
    I'll never understand why there's 18 tracks on this album, when it could have easily been a 8 tracks ep. It's just a complete disappointment.

    Taylor Swift at her rock bottom. Lover has only about 5 good songs (the best highlight being false god and title track) but the rest is 1989 rejects and classic corny, cheesy Taylor. not good.

    Imperdonable lo que hizo Taylor con este álbum, excepto los singles no hay por donde coger el resto del disco. Viniendo de una era como reputation y pese a que ya era hora de que sacara algo de este estilo, se queda muy atrás del nivel pop que traía con los anteriores.

    Just having noticed this was her most critically-acclaimed album to date, I gave it a listen and was appalled at the rating. She is in her 30s, a grown woman, and was more mature at age 15.

    The lyrics are embarrassing and tone-deaf; she waited over a decade to make any kind of sociopolitical statement (or any statement at all, in fact, that wasn’t directly pertaining to her being    Just having noticed this was her most critically-acclaimed album to date, I gave it a listen and was appalled at the rating.     Taylor took her own highly patronizing advice and shut her offkey mouth.

    And, unsurprisingly, the lead single, “Me!” is another juvenile egocentric embarrassment, as observed via the title alone. There’s a very good reason she stopped winning Grammys as of her two most recent records; the whining child persona is not charming, and content remains as dull as Swift herself. Her only saving grace thus far has been decent lyrics, so given she is perpetually 30 going on 13, it appears her expiration date has finally arrived.    … Expand

    taylor has proven yet again that she has no artistic growth whatsoever. she is 29 and this album sounds like it should be kidzbop songs. lyrics like “spelling is fun” proves she is nothing more than a mediocre songwriter and with her lack of vocal abilities this album is not enjoyable.

    Sad about so bad. She got lost and on this album makes it clear with these basic and unoriginal productions, it's like you were listening to an old album. There is nothing new, a bum album with some dirty and unnecessary lyrics. Nothing is saved. THE WORST OF THE YEAR!

    Taylor Swift has shown some potential before....there’s some projects by her that I really find solid, inventive, and well crafted. 1989 was the last album by her that I could tolerate. I really admired her throwback to the old pop sound. Reputation was a huge misstep that just seemed like an album that was playing catch up to some other artists. Ever since red, Taylor has been really taking a hit when it comes to the fact that she has not grown as an artist or matured in her music or artisty. She feels even more clueless than the 16 year old girl she started off as with self titled. I genuinely did not enjoy a single track off of this album besides "you need to calm down" and that was only because of the hook. It also didn't help that Taylor was trying to "get the gay vote" with this album. Them there are the ridiculous actions of her fans. They are so utterly childish and this album goes to show the kind of audience she is pandering to. Taylor Swift is a strong, intelligent woman with great writing skills and she simply has not prooven this to the public in a long time but people choose to eat it up. I really hope that Taylor will start to grow as an artist again rather than the decline of the last couple of albums. It didn't help that she pumped this album out to push reputation under the rug, an album that very much failed to meet my expectations. The old Taylor is definitely dead and it seems it is for the worst.… Expand

    Pop music has grown tired of the same tropes and instrumentation, but Taylor strives to rise above that. The fans, however, attack Tool, one of the greatest bands in history, and Lana Del Rey's new album NFR, which is critically acclaimed as the best album released by a female this decade. Sorry.     Lover sounds like Taylor's attempt to go back to her sound that get her lots of praise years ago, but unfortunately she falls flat on her feet. Her lyrics have gone down and now sound like something a high school student would write. The production is okay, Taylor's voice is okay, she's not a vocalist. What else can she bring to the table other than songwriting?
