This is my rank of Taylor’s albums so far:

    1st: Lover & 1989 (I can’t decide between them)
2nd: Speak Now & reputation (I can’t decide between them as well)
    3rd: RED
    4th: Fearless
    5th: Self-Titled Album (“Taylor Swift”)

I still don’t know about “folklore”. I have to listen to it more to decide where to put it, but it wouldn’t be in 1st or 2nd place.

This album has some of the best songs in her discography such as Cornelia street and daylight, but also some of her worst such as ME!. ME! is a song I enjoy and like but its production is very childish but after watching miss Americana I understand why. This album is great, its messages and production + the lyrics (for most), make the album an amazing score of 9.5/10.

This is one of Taylor Swift’s best albums and a glorious comeback after her slightly disappointing previous album. This album seems to be one of the first times she talks about being in love rather than just recently being out of love.

After the 2017 album reputation, I was questioning Taylor’s Swift’s songwriting and if she lost her touch. This album proves she can still tell her stories and give pop hits.

She is indeed the queen... of payola and promotion. She uses her white privilege and sympathy to make her fanbase drag other artists and people. This album is generic trash. Its a NO NO from me.

    E acabei me viciando.
    Já roubei beijo,
Já fiz confissões antes de dormir
Num quarto escuro pro melhor amigo.
    Já confundi sentimentos,
    Peguei atalho errado
Já me cortei fazendo a barba apressado,
    [esquecer.
Já subi escondido no telhado pra tentar pegar estrelas,
Já subi em árvore pra roubar fruta,
Já caí da escada de bunda.
    Conheci a morte de perto,
E agora anseio por viver cada dia.
    Já fiz juras eternas,
Já escrevi no muro da escola,
Já chorei sentado no chão do banheiro,
Já fugi de casa pra sempre,
    E voltei no outro instante.

The lyrics are embarrassing and tone-deaf; she waited over a decade to make any kind of sociopolitical statement (or any statement at all, in fact, that wasn’t directly pertaining to her being victimized and purportedly wronged by the public, other famous women and her string of exes alike), and her contribution? “YOU NEED TO CAAAALM DOWN, YOU'RE BEING TOOOO LOUD.” If only
Taylor took her own highly patronizing advice and shut her offkey mouth.

And, unsurprisingly, the lead single, “Me!” is another juvenile egocentric embarrassment, as observed via the title alone. There’s a very good reason she stopped winning Grammys as of her two most recent records; the whining child persona is not charming, and content remains as dull as Swift herself. Her only saving grace thus far has been decent lyrics, so given she is perpetually 30 going on 13, it appears her expiration date has finally arrived.

This is a fantastic album, Taylor did it again as always. Killing lyrics and catchy melody and the beat and the production……it's all just perfect. When ME! came out I thought this may be weak but Taylor girl you proved me WRONG!!! Lover deserves all the compliments and awards!!! It's just so glad to see her finally out of the woods and be happy again!!!

Why do the critics hate this woman so much? I want to start by saying that there is absolutely no reason why this album should not have AT LEAST scored an 80. With mind-numbingly inoffensive highs and condescendingly childish lows, Lover is a long, seemingly pointless endeavour into thematically light but murkily familiar territory, making for a remarkable step down even after the underwhelmingly shallow reputation.
    Favourite track: The Archer

Lover could be seen as an album with a mixture of heartfelt songs with a few songs shoved in for the sole purpose of comprising an album, and although I'm a massive Taylor Swift fan this is what I first thought, however, I urge you to listen again. Lover is an album that radiates positivity, which is why it has so many upbeat and pop-like beats, which could be seen as generic on the first listen, however, the truth is on the contrary. Taylor should be applauded for her incredible and wizard-like abilities of wordplay and storytelling, each song tells you something meaningful, whether it's gay rights, or empowering women or simply declaring her love in the most poetic way possible, we must not forget that Taylor is a storyteller of the highest ability. When I first listened to the album I thought that it was to "poppy", but the more I listened the more I realized that Lover is her coming out of her cage handcrafted by the men of the music industry (or in other words just called the music industry) and declaring what she has believed for years and most of it is portrayed positively, hence the positive music. Despite this, she isn't afraid to go deep when she talks about her mother's battle with cancer, which is one of the most beautiful tracks on the album, which I think anyone who has been through something like that can relate to word for word. The man, an ode to any woman out there showing that although you may be questioned for how clever you are or how you got to a place of power that if you were a man you would be told, "they'd say id hustled, put in the work, thy wouldn't shake their heads and question how much of this I deserve." The whole song makes you slowly realize just how differently men are treated (if you haven't already realized) and in a way, the song decodes every harmful message that has ever been directed towards you as a woman and translates them into what would have been told to you if you were a man. Lover the title track, a masterpiece, however a song I wasn't a big fan of to start off with. This is a song, like many of Taylors, where you have to listen multiple times to realize the wordsmanship behind it, I believe with many of Taylor's songs, the music is just a vehicle for the most beautiful poem you have ever heard. To refine what I have said, Taylor Swift is saying something important you just have to listen and not judge her off of what the men in the industry have crafted her to be. She is the bard of the music industry. Expand

It's the only album that I've heard in full from Taylor Swift, and it's pretty good! However it's first two singles are kinda childish for me. But "The Archer" and "Lover" are so beautiful songs ("Lover" is my favorite from this album).

Ultimately, Lover is overstuffed and meandering, but serves as a positive reprieve from her past struggles in the public eye, and represents an artist at the peak of her creativity, power, and—one hopes—continued romantic bliss.

Lover is a fabulous record, full of super-fun standout pop hits that make your heart burst. It oozes with Swift’s much more palatable upbeat sass. She’s in love and also thinking about different kinds of love.
