I'm really sorry to BTS and ARMY! I'm new to Kpop in general, but I have liked some of BTS' songs. I even bought and actually liked Map of the Soul: Persona. I was hyped for this album a lot.

I'm really sorry to BTS and ARMY! I'm new to Kpop in general, but I have liked some of BTS' songs. I even bought and actually liked Map of the Soul: Persona. I was hyped for this album a lot.

I was expecting too much or something. This was really disappointing. I'll admit I listened to this album in 3 broken up pieces, so this may have been a reason for disappointment.

I think the reasons I don't like the album come from two major things. Firstly, the track listing makes this hell for me. I feel the album jumps from one general feeling to another. One song will be intense, while the next one right after that will be more calm (i.e. Black Swan to Filter). Had songs been switched around so that intense songs are paired and gradually calm down to a more gentle feeling, it would have benefitted significantly.

Secondly, I personally think most of the songs on this album are really forgettable. Perhaps the track listing made it much worse. Even a day after listening to the album, I couldn't recall very many of the songs at all, which muddled this shadow feeling of the album that BTS uses so predominantly.

Highlights of the new songs on the album for me include "Ugh!", "ON", "Black Swan", and "Interlude: Shadow". The rest of the songs, especially after a couple weeks after listening to the album, I cannot recall at all. I'm really sorry. I'll try to listen to the album again soon. I wish I could adore this album as much as most people do. Perhaps a second impression will turn it around! I hope so!

An amazing album in celebration to 7 years of their career. Talent is everywhere in this album where they really wrote and composed 95% of it, they're not a market group like kpop, they're actual artists

    Amazing album and group.

The songs in it are all very good, with a lot of different meanings.

This isn’t even a rap album, go inhabit pop. If I wanted to here unoriginal and formulaic songs I would go there anyway.

The music is too ordinary and not my type. The vocal quality of the members is still bad.

If you really like they vocals you really need to see a doctor, even with a lot of auto tune and effects they sing so BAD, seriously i know the 100% of the reviews are from fans and the critics reviews are buying but let be honest, i never heard they before and i really don't get annoyed by armys, i just give then a chance and go to listen, but honestly? they rap are completely dated theyIf you really like they vocals you really need to see a doctor, even with a lot of auto tune and effects they sing so BAD, seriously i know the 100% of the reviews are from fans and the critics reviews are buying but let be honest, i never heard they before and i really don't get annoyed by armys, i just give then a chance and go to listen, but honestly? they rap are completely dated they don't make you think or something about it, and the vocals......... Maybe i stead of learning how to dance they should learn how to sing and wirte for once. Lurics very superficial, woth a lot of boring sounds in the music. This is just bad, "culture" for the mass

Very cheesy overlypraised album. Never been a fan of BTS and how they're praised for bare minimum.

Lot of people want to act like this album is as good as those great album come from last year (like NFR! or MAGDALENE), but no. I think it's not bad, but there still some tracks makes me feel boring and awkward. Album is not very impressive me but it enough to make me want to heard their next project.

Muy básico, nada nuevo, de esperarse, las colaboraciones no lo valen y siendo apenas lo único destacable

This album is so garbage tbh. What was that with the whole autotune in these vocalists? Also less rapping in this album so disappointed. The rappers can't freaking sing at all with the help of autotune which make them sound so generic. Don't worry at least stan ATEEZ because soon BTS will entlist to the military. ATEEZ never disappoint. No wonder people are dragging by saying this album isThis album is so garbage tbh. What was that with the whole autotune in these vocalists? Tragic album. Basic and generic as usual, nothing new and literally boring song, this album needs to go straight to the bin.

it's a let down for me. the album is full of auto tune which does not sound good... the singles sound like something a bad western rapper/trap artist would release... idk this whole map of the soul series is a huge disappointment especially after love yourself series. i only like 2 or 3 songs..

As a whole, the strong but not particularly unruly “7” is less sure-footed than “Love Yourself: Tear,” the group’s last full-length, from 2018, and the first K-pop album to debut atop the Billboard album chart.

Taut and primal, “MOTS: 7” is a kind of self-referential homage. ... Each get solo turns to shine here, their collective work is what stands out.

Persona lacked the natural fluidity and chicness of their best music. Those problems aren’t exactly mitigated here, since most of those songs appear on this album too, but within this new context, they feel like a flashback before the saga continues. Many of the new songs are better about balancing Easter eggs for day-ones with new entry points for more casual listeners.
