Heartfelt, impassioned and sincere, Mona are reaching for the skies--and taking you with them!

Lyrically, they may not be Pulitzer Prize contenders and sometimes--well, a lot of the time--you yearn for a little more musical adventurism, but there's good work here. [Jun 2011, p.123]

Given the right mood and lighting, it is almost magical; in stark sunshine, less so. [Jun 2011, p.100]

This album was their biggest and best opportunity to change that perception, but no matter how many freight-loads it ends up selling by, it hasn't succeeded.

Listening to them outside that ideal environment, they're decent enough songs, even if Shooting the Moon was formerly U2's Bullet the Blue Sky. But the gravel-voiced Nick Brown's quest to become "bigger than Bono" has left him sounding overwrought and a dreadful ham.

there's ultimately nothing distinctive here to grab the imagination. The singer has obviously modelled his every inflection on Bono, and the guitarist likewise over-employs Edge-style arpeggiated riffs; but they lack U2's broader ambition and sense of purpose.
