How many songs can he make about sex with gorgeous lyrics? But the album is short and sweet.     This album is such a Masterpiece! It feels very personal and intimate! I never ever left any review about any album before, however with this one I felt I had to say how great this album really is. The production, the vocals, the feels and everything. You can feel the emotions through Zayn’s voice, he is really showing us how he felt or was feeling about certain subjects! By the “critics”This album is such a Masterpiece!     One of the worst albums ever. Majority of songs sound like they were throwaways of his previous albums and he just compiled them in this album. It seems like he’s losing his vocal ability and the production felt so cheap and it feels like he doesn’t have money to hire producers lmao. Atp he should just retire from music because nobody is really listening.

    Disappointing album. Most of the songs are about sex and Zayn appears to have lost his top range. In songs like Tightrope he is screeching and on others you can hear him catching his breath between lines.

This one was just meh, and didn’t meet his potential. It’s not near as personal as his previous albums, I didn’t like how his vocal sat in the songs either. Personally I just liked half of the songs on it. Hope his next album is moreI’m a HUGE zayn fan, however I was disappointed when this album dropped.     This is one of the greatest album of our time. I want everybody to give it a go, highly recommended if you genuinely have a good taste in music. The creativity, artistic glow and last but not the least zayn's beautiful voice has made this album a masterpiece.

    A masterpiece. It is sad that stans of his former colleagues are review bombing such a beautiful album. His songs are complex and have pathos & angst. His style and showcase of his vocal ability is just increasing yet the press is being harsher. By far, the only musical genius to come out of that former boyband.

    Zayn manages to speak to my heart with each album. Mind of Mine was bold, Icarus Falls was delicate and Nobody Is Listening is more vulnerable than ever. It starts off with a spoken-word, continues with Better. This time around, his lyrics are better than ever. An excellent composition, the intro was surprisingly catchy and the tracks had a good balance of tone, could've held more singles but 2 promotional ones are good since that the record has 11 songs only.     Decent album, not a bad album but I think zayn could have done something much better, the beats and melody in this thing were almost the same for me, not a lot of switches, and the lyrics and theme of the album weren’t that impressive either, there are some really good songs but also some really bad ones or forgettables.

    The third album is believed to be Zayn's most closest project.The album pours us with sweet melodic RnB to chilling high notes. The ending of the album with Tightrope and River road is quite awesome

    His most personal album. He manages to criticize the industry and be honest in his compositions, like "Calamity" and "Unf***witable". The latter having soft and delicate vocals, the melody is so beautiful. "Connexion" and "Tightrope" being the most beautiful in my opinion and he still pays a little tribute to his grandfather in "Tightrope". I'm so proud of ZAYN.

    I really don't understand the "directions", just because he was in his favorite band they are going to give him an excellent score. The album is not bad, but neither is it for this high score. There are other R&B albums that are extremely superior. He stays on a yellow and null note.

    One of the best albums I've heard so far in 2021. In it I highlight songs like "Sweat" which has an energetic percussive sound and brings back fond memories of Phil Collins's "In The Air Tonight", Unf ** kwitable It is a song about self love and "River Road" which is a beautiful poem to close the album.

    I expected so much because i love Zayns voice and i loved Mind of Mine and Icarus Falls, but this album is kinda boring. I'm sorry, but while his voice is amazing as always, i would never listen to this album again because it just wasn't catchy or memorable for me personaly. Hope he'll do well though!

    All the tracks are hands down amazing in this album. Zayn's voice and the lyrics. This is the best album he could ever give us. Vibez is so good. My favorite track is Tightrope and Connexion. His music is damn love.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I kinda fell off of Zayn after PILLOWTALK but am recently rediscovering him after this release, and I gotta say, I’m definitely a fan. I’ve been tracking some reviews and analyses of the album and I’m generally shocked by such mixed reviews. I think this album really proves his credibility as an honest to God artist rather than just a vocalist. I love his use of falsetto, the blurred lines between genres is particularly creative and the lyricism itself is very intentional. The inclusion of “Chaudhvin Ka Chand” by Mohammad Rafi (which was a huge deal in Bollywood in the 60s) as a bridge in Urdu in “Tightrope” is inspired, in addition to the lyrical parallels of “River Road” to Kahlil Gibran’s “On Marriage”:


    “We don’t define each other
    Stand on your own, be a pillar” the song

    And “And stand together yet not too near
    together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart,” the poem

    I just think this is it’s own level of artistic brilliance. As for production of the album I’ve been seeing also reviews stating some friction between tracks that are overproduced vs underproduced. I admit there’s some songs that I had to listen to more than once due to the production of the track but I think I’m all the more better for it. Every time I listen to the album I hear something new; whether it be a reference to a previous album (the concept of falling from a too passionate love from Icarus Falls, his 2nd album), or the slight pitch in certain lyrics when sung. This to me is just evidence of the level of intention Zayn conveys and inputs into this album. This is not supposed to be an album full of bangers, it feels like an atmospheric self reflection piece. Does something slightly so experimental such as this run the risk of underperforming commercially? Absolutely, but I hold such appreciation for an artist who does art for the very sake of it, and I’ve enjoyed watching the reactions of people who don’t even know who Zayn is experience the emotions conveyed on this album.    … Expand

    I don't know why Zayn keeps on making album with the same old vibes. You can do better Zayn. To be honest this is not a bad album, it's just that he keeps on bringing the listener to his initial discography. The melodic compositions was just like his debut album. This album lacks conviction but quite impressed with the production.

    There’s no story behind the album. It feels like Zayn doesn’t have anything interesting to say (it’s basically all about s*x) and there’s no progression or anything. And I would like to see zayn experimenting with his voice and sound a little bit more. And the songs are all very similar as well.

I just love to listen to melodies and music of songs. If the tune, music or melody of a song pleases me, then I am in. Zayn's third album is full of such pleasent melodies. Personally I don't care much about lyrics. I just love to listen to melodies and music of songs. If the tune, music or melody of a song pleases me, then I am in. Zayn's third album is full of such pleasent melodies. Most of the songs are good to hear. I bet one won't get bore at any point in the album.     One of zayns most ambitious albums to date. Adored the south-East Asian inspired instrumentals in some songs and the Urdu hook in tightrope was fantastic. Definitely an album that grows on you, very excited to see zayns future projects, this one was a hit in my book.

    I heard this album a few days ago and I must say it’s one of the best rnb albums I’ve heard in awhile. Ao chegar em “Conexion” acho que perdi um pouco minha audição, o começo já é meio brega com os estralados de dedo à lá Meghan Trainor, mas ao chegar no refrão e ouvir os literais miados desafinados (disfarçados de falsete), fiquei muito decepcionada, até mesmo pela produção que parece inacabada. “Sweat” parece mais uma obra de arte sendo posta após a anterior, a vibe soft rock com a bateria oitentista é bem agradável, mas logo em seguida em **** que fala sobre amizades falsas, o álbum começa a desandar novamente e em “Windowswill” temos um Emo-rap impalatável tanto na melodia básica como na composição, sem falar nas rimas chulas, malfeitas e sem graça do rapper Devlin. “Tightrope” é uma balada bem anos 90 mas ainda bastante esquecível mesmo falando sobre amor espiritual, e por fim a ainda mais esquecível “River Road”. O terceiro álbum é geralmente conhecido pela explosão criativa ou gananciosa de um artista, mas este de Zayn parece mais um aglomerado de canções que apesar de autênticas, não passam do puro suco do R&B que outros artistas estão fazendo no momento - e melhor. A alcunha alternativa ou indie que seus fãs pregam ao vento, pode só justificar os números pifios, mas artistas alternativos prezam pelo primor da sua obra principalmente na produção. As mesmas composições sobre sexo e amor, as mesmas poucas e rasas referências culturais, parcerias apagadas, os vocais robóticos e uma produção péssima são os atributos desse álbum. A obra não consegue ser totalmente coesa justamente pela produção duvidosa, de 17 produtores, não demonstra nenhuma evolução artística já que até mesmo os famosos vocais estão batidos e Zayn decepciona fazendo o Icarus Falls parecer uma obra-prima.… Expand

    I think "Nobody is listening" is awesome, really loved it from Calamity to River Road, it's a 10/10 album, thanks Zayn for such a masterpiece!

    It's a masterpiece. Zayn's most personal record, the vocals are harmonic and soft, Zayn have an angel's voice. It's a perfect R&B; the transition from one song to another is so natural. What an amazayn album.

    I feel like in this album are lots of good lyrics but is it enough for saving the album? The sound of this album is magical in an interesting way. I saved 2 songs actually but many were boring. I like the collaboration w/ Syd and also Outside and Vibez are the best songs on this album but sadly are in the top of the album. So at the end of the day i liked only 3 songs? Maybe 4?     Great music production, vocal always on point. What a way to open an album with slow rap/spoken words with Calamity. Surprisingly, I love it so much, it sets the vibe to this album. Better, absolute banger, made me feel so nervous for the next track because it set the bar so high. However, Outside doesn't disappoint because yet it is another heartbreaking break up song that is so relatableGreat music production, vocal always on point. This is the track where I think should be his next single because it's so good. The production, great, the vocal, great, the lyrics, great. It doesn't miss anything, Sweat is definitely my favourite of this album. Reminds me 80s RnB music. Goosebumps! The next one is **** this one hold a very strong message, he's happy now, he's literally the unbothered king. Next, Windowsill is jaw dropping track of the album. The hook is so strong, vocal chef's kiss, the rap part is meh but enjoyable, two last line of the rap part is killer tho. Another heartfelt banger and honestly the most beautiful song is Tightrope. He sampled the Urdu part from a classic song, I don't know the name. I cried listening to it, every single time. The vibe is exceptional. The last song of the album, River Road need a standing ovation, very honest lyrics. Showing off his vocal power. So good. Sweat, River Road, Outside, Better & Tightrope are, no cap, very solid song of the album. Doesn't regret one bit when I spend to buy the album. Both in iTunes and the physical album. If the vinyl ever comes out I'll definitely get it too. Zayn Malik is a serious artist and doesn't really care about the rankings and charts that he really deserves. To anyone that complaining he talks about sex alot yada yada, fock you and your tasteless a$$. This album should won album of the year.… Expand

    It wasn't what I expected, Single choosing is awful. They put the worst songs from album as the singles. Sweat is the best so far. Zayn is so talented but he doesn't know how to use it.I hope RCA promote him and don't let him to be flopper than this.

    It is tightly packed with 11 songs
    Compared to 27 songs Icarus Falls
    And has a sense of direction.
    There are gems like tightrope, windowsill and sweat.
    Overall a good R/B album.
