Mar 7, 2016Palomino isn’t a perfect album by any means. A few tracks feel a little rock by numbers, and for all the excellence on show Treetop Flyers do lack that streak of originality and cosmic weirdness that elevate American contemporaries such as Father John Misty or My Morning Jacket. Yet these are small criticisms of a band who have built upon the promise of their début very impressively indeed.

MojoMar 7, 2016Treetop Flyers have not exactly reinvented the wheel but certainly given the tyres a good kicking and come up with all kinds of right. [Apr 2016, p.89]

UncutMar 7, 2016Much to admire, even when the provenance is so blatant. [Mar 2016, p.81]

Mar 7, 2016Palomino is by no means a bad album--the songs are well constructed, everyone plays well, the harmonies are tight and accurate, it’s delivered with heart--though it does sound slightly as though it has been recorded in a box. The trouble is, it does not bring much new or original to the party.
