    This is a fantastic album from one of the last great rock bands still around in 2018. Befitting their Austin roots, this band is nothing if not eclectic. Fuzzed-out blues riffs and proggy synth textures, blended in an array of funky grooves and syncopated rhythms, evoke everything from T. Rex and the Steve Miller Band, to the Black Keys and even Subdivisions-era Rush. As It must be, inThis is a fantastic album from one of the last great rock bands still around in 2018. Befitting their Austin roots, this band is nothing if not eclectic. Fuzzed-out blues riffs and proggy synth textures, blended in an array of funky grooves and syncopated rhythms, evoke everything from T. Rex and the Steve Miller Band, to the Black Keys and even Subdivisions-era Rush. As It must be, in order to pull off such a feat so successfully, the musicianship here is first-rate.

    Whether you end up jumping on board with Performance will depend on the extent of your own predilection for “real music” nostalgia, but those who do find themselves in the passenger seat are likely to have a pretty fun time.

    By making complex sounds and riffs seem simple and natural, it evokes a "you got this" feeling within that reassures you everything's going to be alright.

    For a four-piece rock band from Texas, they still remain pretty difficult to classify and almost impossible to ignore. Play loud and enjoy.
