Many of the early tracks feel over-packed with ideas, musical styles , thrusts of synth, bongos, spoken word and chemtrails of jazz. Later, though, when he settles into sparser ballad territory, there is a sense of him drawing into focus as an artist. [Aug 2019, p.116]

Ambitious production can’t quite cover the fact that none of the songs on Run Fast Sleep Naked have a conceptual core.

I liked the song Sunlight, but most of it has an 80s-synth cheesiness to it that I can't get past... I was waiting for Michael McDonald or Kenny G to chime in at any moment. I thought Sanity was somewhat catchy, but it crosses a line and comes off like the song in the credits for a rom-com featuring Adam Sandler or something. Clearly Nick Murphy left something else behind when he ditched the name Chet Faker. Full Review »
