As an Italian I am deeply pleased with the success of this band, but not enough. Rock has been buried, and perhaps with a less mainstream project to grab acclaim from everyone is more strategy than artistic philosophy. The forefathers of rock know it is mediocre, and you can hear it in the references. Young people are now used to hearing about freedom over self-expression and self-determination and empowerment. Beyoncé, Monaé, Lamar, SZA, Taylor Swift have now replaced that "sex, drugs, and rock & roll," and of the young 30-somethings have nothing else to say? The rock revolution had already talked about these things, isn't it time to revolutionize more of them? Mediocre lyrics and sounds already heard and proposed, after two years of success you can raise the bar. Expand

Has as much personality as a frying pan, to be honest. They have no chance of surviving in the music industry, when they're not copying old rock classics.

I am a newer fan of the band, saw them live in the past month and found they have great energy that I can myself seeing them when they are in the states. It pains me to say this, this newest release pales compared to the previous 2 albums. That's not to say the album is bad, I love Mammamia, Kool Kids and The Loneliest from when I heard them on tour, the tracks are some hits and many misses. Also since this album has more songs then the last two it feels bloated. Supermodel feels off from there sound, probably from the producers they had on this time and is a rather surface-level song. The latest single Gossip follows suit and seems more a chance for the guest guitarist to gain back some relevancy off of Måneskins current popularity high. Another downgrade was that obviously excluded Italian tracks to court the English speaking regions to attain that relevancy. As a native speaker I feel this is unnecessary. Im a beleiver that music transends language, and anyone who enjoys them will enjoy them singing in their native tougue.
I agree with consensus of others who have reviewed this album, that this seems to be the bands attempt to court the US music industry and gain entry into the mainstream charts. I fear that they lost what made them great this time around to try and court what they feel would get them into the music industries graces. I hope this sort of effort is a one off. I truly believe this band still has a future ahead of them and that they haven't reached the high of their artistry. As early 20 somethings they have time to the craft a sound that will make a legacy. I only hope they won't chase the mainstream I'm the future, it only holds them back creatively and from reaching their goal of making a lasting impact on the rock genre. The mainstream doesn't need to ruin anymore acts that have talent.

For anyone who read through that monolog, my real rating is a "6.5"
There is some good here but so much is preventing this from being on par with their past albums. I am rooting for this band and that they only improve from here.

The power of showbisness has bewitched Måneskin. A Rock album that brings back old memories, but which the more experienced can recognize is not revolutionary. This is a failure. Some self-repetitions and references to the 2000s, such as Fall Out Boy. There is no authenticity. The only thing that is remembered is Damiano's vocal timbre, which also gets boring by the fourth track. The group is trying to save their career with outrageous antics, which are also not surprising. Bowie did all this back in the 70s. The album is weak and mediocre. This is a failure. Listening laboriously flows between songs that are too similar, never fascinating, basically destined for insignificance within today's rock scene. It is striking how the much-hyped collaboration with Tom Morello in the single "Gossip" is reduced to a solo of a few seconds, while "Feel" or "Bla Bla Bla" seem designed only to make the audience sing. The new generation of Rock is based on stream business mediocrity. Certainly great musicians, the bassist knows what he's doing, but the desire to hymn "sex, drugs and rock & roll" is a bit out of fashion. There are already rappers who hymn these themes, perhaps the political and social weight of rock is missing, toward young people who think it's new, when rock died at least 30 years ago.The new generation of Rock is based on stream business mediocrity. There are already rappers who hymn these themes, perhaps the political and social weight of rock is missing, toward young people who think it's new, when rock died at least 30 years ago. In an age when uan 40-year-old Beyoncé revolutionizes her musical identity with each project, spreading messages of self-help, freedom of expression, and equality, this very young Italian band would have much more to say, but instead invests in basic mainstream culture with a mediocre recording project. Boring, uninspired, all the songs sound literally the same.
Every damn song has a little intro,a main riff and a ten seconds "solo", and you have to go through 17 copycat songs. Strip 'em of all the visuals, the fancy videos and you remain with absolute nothing.
MTV garbage at its best, the apotheosis of commercial music, all based on looking and glamour and not on the songwriting.

None of the 17 songs waste any time getting where they're ultimately going. ... Seriously, it's time to believe. [Apr 2023, p.74]

Rush!, their first album recorded mainly in English, is absolutely terrible at every conceivable level: vocally grating, lyrically unimaginative, and musically one-dimensional. It is a rock album that sounds worse the louder you play it.

With 17 mostly terrific songs (three sung in Italian), only one breaking the four-minute mark, the collection has the jittery intensity of a lion pacing before feeding time. ... Perhaps we could have done without the closing power ballad “The Loneliest,” but that’s the only misstep on an album that should thrust this band into worldwide superstar status.
