    Smile is an album all about overcoming clinical depression which Katy suffered with for 2 years. The album is full of dance, disco, electro, mid tempo pop bangers that are all unique and insanely amazing. All of katy’s albums are amazing and different in they’re own ways and smile doesn’t shy away from katy’s insane talent for creating songs that make you dance and maybe even cry at theSmile is an album all about overcoming clinical depression which Katy suffered with for 2 years. I haven’t been able to rank any of katy’s 4 albums but Smile is definitely her best one yet ! Critics have been mocking her mental health and this album which i think is disgusting. Katy has given the world such a beautiful piece of work to always remind us and herself that we CAN get through the tough times but somehow that message got lost for the critics and they are focusing on they’re own opinions on Katy & somehow even bringing up other female artists as if it is okay to pit women against women, it’s not ! I am so proud of Katy for releasing this most personal yet most fun piece of work 12 years into her record breaking career. Even during these dark times the world is facing katy is offering us all a slice of positivity, hope and love, to be honest that’s all we can ask for in music right now and katy perry did it. giving birth & releasing an album in the same week pretty much sums up how amazing, passionate and hard working katy is. i recommend this album to everyone, no matter your taste there is something for everyone. this is a beautiful piece of work that will be remembered forever for its empowering message & perfect sound. honestly all I can say is thank you katy perry.… Expand

    One of her best albums to dates. The lyrics, the production, the messages...everythinggg!! There isn't any song that you would skip. We truly needed an album like this one during this time in the world especially the song Only Love. Some of us should really go listen to that song and practice it in real life. A MASTERPIECE❤

    I think this is the best album of this year. It contains super rhythms and mind-thinking topics about mental health which are important to be spoken about. I consider as my most favorite piece on the album the song called "Not the End Of the World". It has strong melody and amazing lyrics. This album does not have skip songs.     This album is AMAZING! experimental melodies, a pleasant return to elettropop, with an 80’s mix, all accompained by introspective lyrics. My favourites are Cry About It Later and Tucked, but also Not The End of the World and Teary Eyes don’t joke! If you’re searching for a Dance album, Smile is the one for you!

    Not a huge fan but this is one of her best works if not the best. Cry about it later , not the end of the world, tucked , champagne problems are the best. Only love hold its own ground while teary eyes and harleys in Hawaii are nearly perfect in their production.

    This is a really fun album! Literally not skips!
    Her best album (and it’s hard for me to tell that cuz I love all her albums). Wish critics focused more on the album and not in her bad thoughts about her.

    Anyway stream/buy/dance it

    It is definitely one of the best albums of the year, although it has some skips. Katy came back to her roots and sits really well.

    This album shows her personal growth. It shows how she got back that smile, which she lost during the Witness era. This album really makes you SMILE!

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
