  1. Marking not so much a revival as a triumphant rising from the ashes, “The Antidote” is a surprisingly potent and clear vision of musical intent.

Sure it's not as deep, dubby or listless as Charango, but this album is equally suitable for the late-night comedown. [Oct 2005, p.79]
  3. Both a total curveball and pleasant surprise.

Like most of their work, it all sounds teasingly familiar. [Jun 2005, p.97]
  7. Where many electronica artists choose to mine vintage soul and hip-hop, very few have looked to 1960s folk-rock and guitar-driven anthems for inspiration. The results are quite astounding - if unexpected - and the change is definitely welcome.
  8. After a while, the songs begin to sound the same, and while Martey's vocals are consistently strong, the fact that she almost always sings in the same range robs them of much of their effect.
  9. The downside to all of this newfound strength is that it seems that the Godfrey brothers have painted themselves into a rut with this vocalist. By focusing all of their efforts into playing to her strengths, they have eschewed most of the variety of their earlier work.
  10. Try as you might, searching for vestiges of the ol' Morcheeba is futile.

I simply love Daisy Martey's voice, it's wonderful. I am a long time fan of Skye but I must say that I now look forward to hearing I simply love Daisy Martey's voice, it's wonderful. I am a long time fan of Skye but I must say that I now look forward to hearing more from Daisy. What a shame she has now left Morcheeba. The Antidote is a fanstastic album but could also be the last morcheeba album I buy Full Review »

With their lead singer gone they have not only lost her intriguing voice but also the specific trip-hop style that marked their earlier albums and made you so easily fall into their former excellent music. a 9 vote !? i better justify my rating :) first of all - it would had been 10 if skye edwards had sung the title song... but then again only a 9 vote !? i better justify my rating :) first of all - it would had been 10 if skye edwards had sung the title song... but then again only morcheeba can get away with bringing out a fantastic album even after their lead singer has been replaced. each song is carefully orchestrated. the evolution (alternative guitar chords mostly) is just sufficient to not sound repetitive, while retaining what morcheeba fans love. the band has consistently provided new musical frontiers to the electronic scene over the last decade and continues to do so with this album. but where is skye? that voice...
