I feel like even a ZERO is too high of a score for this album. Ryn impressed with OctaHate, but everything on 'The Fool' is just plain awful. Her vocals are atrocious and she sings like she has a cock down her throat, and the lyrics are cliché, dull and monotonous. Also every song sounds like it was made on Garage Band. After hearing the single Octahate I was quite excited for Ryn's debut album, I think we were all expecting something great. But sadly, The Fool isn't what we call excellent. The album is filled with fillers and the songs have awful production. It ranges from awful songs like Runaway to terrible songs like The Fool

Hate to sound awful, but this album might be one of the worst albums of all time. It has nothing going for it. Even the rendition of the title track "The Fool" had poor production. I am embarrassed To even have this on my phone. The vocals are weak and the production sounds as bad as Kids Bop. Don't waste your time. I recommend Beyonce's self titled album. A much better album enjoy.

After the released of Ryn Weaver's lead single "OctaHate" I was expecting this young lady to breakthrough with an incredible debut album, sadly I was wrong. This album is the worst debut album I have heard in nearly 3 years. Not only is the production hazy, the lyrics are tacky (not even wrote by her) and combined with mediocre vocals, this is the result of a lazy and rushed album. This album is simply atrocious; I could talk about how awful and terrible this album is, but the maximum account of characters that can be used in this review is 5000, and that is definitely not enough to describe this chaotic album.

If this passes as music today, I'm afraid of the future. This is some of the worst drivel I've ever heard. If you heard one song on this album, you practically can say you heard them all. Octahate is stuck in my head and that's not a good thing at all. I'm pretty sure the critics are either paid off or they have no taste in music because a 4.0 is TOO much for this PILE of FILTH.

I was so excited for this album, constantly expressing on my Twitter that it would sell out everyones faves and be the summer anthem but in actual fact this album is absolute trash, and I don't even like this lady. It is the worst album of the year, ARTFLOP which flopped pretty hard is even better than this garbage.

Horrible. This album is just a full-length HEADACHE, not an album. I used to stan for her on Twitter because of the bop Octahate, but obviously her style of music changed since then. Garbage. Atrocious vocals, she wants to be a folk singer so bad. Do NOT buy this.

Possibly the worst album I have listened to in my entire lifetime. Not only is she a terrible, trashy, downgrade indie pop version of Lana Del Rey but her vocals in this are absolutely atrocious even WITH auto-tune (which I'm sure she heavily used). Everything about 'The Fool' is pathetic. I saw my fellow twitter peers tweeting about Ryn's latest release, and decided to give it a listen, as I was a fan of her single 'OctaHate'. Big mistake. Overall, the album is just a huge miss and I don't recommend it to anyone with ears. Expand

this so called 'art' is nothing but filth. her vocals are atrocious and her lyrics are corny. I honestly feel sorry for all the producers, engineers, mixers and everyone that participated and wasted their time in the creation of this album. I would rather listen to ARTPOP.

This is the most mediocre album I've ever heard , it's not bad it's just so boring it makes me want to throw my phone across the room, her vocals are weak and annoying, unlike the queen of pop aka lady gaga which has a beautiful angelic voice. The production is weak unlike Ariana's iconic masterpiece known as My Everything, and don't get me started on the lyrics!! I listened to Octahate and was obsessed. I follow her and was excited for 'The Fool'. Then I listened to it & I immediately saw tears roll down my face. They weren't tears of joy they were more so the kind of tears you get when someone's peeling an onion. I don't even remember the titles of any of the tracks because they were that bad. I don't even remember the titles of any of the tracks because they were that bad. I then saw blood slowly drip out of my ears and then rushed to the bathroom to get a napkin to wipe it off. I locked myself in my room and threw my iPhone out of the window from the 58th floor. It was that bad. The next day I bought a new iPhone & ran to church as I could feel the spirit of the devil hidden in her music. Her voice is terrible, her lyrics are lackluster & the production was even outclassed by the Dora The Explorer theme song. After days of crying I listened to Problem by Ariana Grande & somehow found god again. Never will I listen to Tropical Rynforest Weaver's devil worshipping music ever again. Octahate is her only good song, and she will forever be a one hit bubbling under the Hot 100 wonder. Save your coins for Moonlight by Ariana Grande or perhaps Revival by Selena Gomez coming soon. I guess 'indie' is the new excuse when a debut album flops and is full of pathetic attempts of 'good' music. Ryn weaver tried so hard to make songs like Octahate that the whole album sounds the same, her music is just noises and her voice is basic and flat.

Drivel, garbage, terrible, trash, nasty, ugly, vile, I can keep going on. OctaHate is really something special. It really is. But I wish it was the only song that actually made it out of the studio and onto the album....

This is album is unholy. The writing is as complex as a Dr.Suess book. The production sounds like it was made on a 3 dollar mac program. Ryn vocals sounds like a dying cow. It was a displeasure from start to finish.

People call this garbage music? I'm losing faith in humanity. She sounds like a goat and her vocals are not good at all. This will be her first & last album. She's over.

This is just... not a good album. OctaHate and Sail On are pretty good songs, but the rest are very average. Ryn sounds a lot like Sara Bareilles, but that quivering thing she does with her voice is really annoying. I understand she's a talented vocalist and some people like they way she sings, but I find it irritating. Anyway, this was a pretty disappointing album. Not much else to say.

Instead of utilizing the talented crew’s many particular strengths to create a unique and unified sound, The Fool comes out feeling like nobody in particular and everyone at once.

At times, as on Free, there’s a danger of things crossing into the formulaic big-pop sound the Mumfords have spread through the charts. But more often, these songs – written with Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos among others--are imbued with enough subtle strangeness to remain beguiling.

The Fool is full of promise, and though it just barely misses the mark as far as greatness is concerned, Weaver’s established that she’s on the right track for deserved potential superstardom.

The biggest highlights on The Fool ("Here Is Home") balance both of those instincts, tempering folky ache with subtle, twinkly beats.
