A perfect, deep concept to the album. It sends you through a range of emotions with the mix of sounds on the album. Matched with stunning vocals. With the lead single Octahate leading this album with a strong force and then the soft additions like The Fool or Traveling Song. Really amazing album. Looking forward to upcoming stuff from her.

the fool is an amazing album it's sad that trolls want to mess something like this up. Highlights are Pierre, Free, OctaHate, and New Constellations. The synths and huge sound on Free make it feel timeless and simply beautiful. Thank you so much for your storytelling and music Ryn you are a strong hearted woman

Honestly, I think this is one of the best albums to ever been released this year. Pierre, an standout track and also a fan favorite is a wondrous song with amazing lyrics and incredible production. Other songs, such as Traveling Song are wonderfully written. Can't wait to hear more from Ryn.

Ryn is amazing. If you thought OctaHate was great, then you'll love the rest of the album. My personal favorites, other than OctaHate, include Pierre, Stay Low, and Traveling Song.

Since I've actually HEARD the album, I'm happy to report that it's a pleasurable listen. Such a strong voice vibrates rhythmically in the ears. The lyrics are stellar and the production is breathtaking when played on good speakers. It's a shame that teenagers with nothing better to do cannot appreciate good music. These people have no lives it's so tragic

Truly a genius and strong debut album. From start to finish the production by Mr Blanco is beautiful but the outstanding part are Weaver's vibratos and the way her voice and cinematographic lyrics dance around the album telling you the whole story. diversity from strong pop songs like "OctaHate" and "Pierre" to also storng Ballads like "Here is Home" and "Traveling Song, I'd 100% recommend.

In my opinion, The Fool is the best debut to come out since Lorde's Pure Heroine (an album that I pretty much revere as my bible). From the wild rhythm of Runaway, to the starry optimism of New Constellations, this album doesn't have a single weak moment. It has many strong ones: everything about "Pierre", the quirky a capella coda of "Traveling Song", the electro groove of "Stay Low".In my opinion, The Fool is the best debut to come out since Lorde's Pure Heroine (an album that I pretty much revere as my bible). You can totally see her work through the music. Also a lot of feelings which is good. She's very open about it! You rock girl!

Despite this being a debut album it still comes off as a bit raw, reaching this odd middle ground musically. Most of Ryn's lyrics are about being a lovesick twenty-something and the production obviously sounds like Passion Pit on most songs. Here is Home sounds like a Fleetwood Mac song. What I get overall is a talented, kind of wild singer trying to put her stamp on mellow indie pop tracks that have minds of their own. I love her voice and I love Passion Pit so it all kind of works for me personally, but I think Ryn Weaver really starts to forge a cool identity on the better tracks on the album. My favorites were OctaHate, Promises and The Fool. Other indie influences find their way into the production and are hit or miss overall.

I could see how this album isn't for everyone but I liked it for the most part; I hope there's more to come!

After all, "The Fool" is just a "good" album. We can see a story by looking deeply trough the lyrics and instrumentals, but Ryn needs to decide the path she's going to follow. In the end, she can't have all she's trying to get with this record.

I don't understand the hate here. You didn't hate Marina when her songs had those meaningful lyrics, but when it came to Ryn, you hated her for that. Why????? I don't see the logic in it. She made a great album, from upbeat songs like Pierre, Octahate, to calm songs like Traveling Song and Here Is Home.

The reason she chose OctaHate as her first single was because she thought it was the most effective. She had already planned out her album and it wasn't like she just changed music style, she just wanted her album to tell a story and OctaHate provided the most listeners to said story. Her album is amazing because it goes through a whole story and has a great and perfectly themed concept. Her concept was fantasy / medieval and her whole album makes several references to Tarot Cards, Pierrot Clowns, magic, etc. I love her style because her indie pop / alternative pop style mixes new age electronic and old fashioned folk elements. Octahate, Traveling Song, and Pierre represent some of 2015s best indie-pop and pop tracks 100%. It just seems like once you look back at the album, only half of it is worthy of a second look.

At times, as on Free, there’s a danger of things crossing into the formulaic big-pop sound the Mumfords have spread through the charts. But more often, these songs – written with Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos among others--are imbued with enough subtle strangeness to remain beguiling.

The biggest highlights on The Fool ("Here Is Home") balance both of those instincts, tempering folky ache with subtle, twinkly beats.
