Instead of utilizing the talented crew’s many particular strengths to create a unique and unified sound, The Fool comes out feeling like nobody in particular and everyone at once.

This is just... not a good album. OctaHate and Sail On are pretty good songs, but the rest are very average. Ryn sounds a lot like Sara Bareilles, but that quivering thing she does with her voice is really annoying. I understand she's a talented vocalist and some people like they way she sings, but I find it irritating. Anyway, this was a pretty disappointing album. Not much else to say.

Ryn Weaver is a very talented (but unfortunately underrated) and truly honest artist, i love her songs so much and her voice is amazing, all of the songs of this album affects me in a different way, can't wait for her second realease.

The Fool is an excellent album and one of the best albums of 2015. This album does a great job of showcasing Ryn's vocals with wonderful lyrics. Some of the highlights of the album are Pierre, Travelling Song, and The Fool.

A perfect, deep concept to the album. It sends you through a range of emotions with the mix of sounds on the album. Matched with stunning vocals. With the lead single Octahate leading this album with a strong force and then the soft additions like The Fool or Traveling Song. Really amazing album. Looking forward to upcoming stuff from her.

The Fool combines extremely high-highs (Octahate, Promises, Pierre, Traveling Song) with other unnecessary tracks (Sail On, Runaway, Here is Home). She sleeps her way through some tracks while offering 110% on others.

Octahate, Traveling Song, and Pierre represent some of 2015s best indie-pop and pop tracks 100%. It just seems like once you look back at the album, only half of it is worthy of a second look.

For a first effort, Ryn's debut is definitely strong enough. In the future, she'll simply need to add more direction to her work.

After all, "The Fool" is just a "good" album. We can see a story by looking deeply trough the lyrics and instrumentals, but Ryn needs to decide the path she's going to follow. In the end, she can't have all she's trying to get with this record.

The reason she chose OctaHate as her first single was because she thought it was the most effective. She had already planned out her album and it wasn't like she just changed music style, she just wanted her album to tell a story and OctaHate provided the most listeners to said story. Her album is amazing because it goes through a whole story and has a great and perfectly themed concept. The reason she chose OctaHate as her first single was because she thought it was the most effective. Her album is amazing because it goes through a whole story and has a great and perfectly themed concept. Her concept was fantasy / medieval and her whole album makes several references to Tarot Cards, Pierrot Clowns, magic, etc. I love her style because her indie pop / alternative pop style mixes new age electronic and old fashioned folk elements. My favorites in order from fav to least are: Promises, New Constellations, OctaHate, Pierre (ESPECIALLY THE ORCHESTRA VERSION), The Fool, Traveling Song, Free, Runaway, Stay Low, Sail On, Here Is Home. I don't understand the hate here. You didn't hate Marina when her songs had those meaningful lyrics, but when it came to Ryn, you hated her for that. Why????? I don't see the logic in it. She made a great album, from upbeat songs like Pierre, Octahate, to calm songs like Traveling Song and Here Is Home.

Just a great debut, amazing job! Her voice is fantastic, I heard vocals blessed in this album. Probably one of the best albums of 2015, brilliant singer and songwriter, Ryn was a great discovery... I really loved.

Drivel, garbage, terrible, trash, nasty, ugly, vile, I can keep going on. OctaHate is really something special. It really is. But I wish it was the only song that actually made it out of the studio and onto the album....

I listened to Octahate and was obsessed. I follow her and was excited for 'The Fool'. Then I listened to it & I immediately saw tears roll down my face. They weren't tears of joy they were more so the kind of tears you get when someone's peeling an onion. I don't even remember the titles of any of the tracks because they were that bad. I don't even remember the titles of any of the tracks because they were that bad. I then saw blood slowly drip out of my ears and then rushed to the bathroom to get a napkin to wipe it off. I locked myself in my room and threw my iPhone out of the window from the 58th floor. It was that bad. The next day I bought a new iPhone & ran to church as I could feel the spirit of the devil hidden in her music. Her voice is terrible, her lyrics are lackluster & the production was even outclassed by the Dora The Explorer theme song. After days of crying I listened to Problem by Ariana Grande & somehow found god again. Never will I listen to Tropical Rynforest Weaver's devil worshipping music ever again. Octahate is her only good song, and she will forever be a one hit bubbling under the Hot 100 wonder. Save your coins for Moonlight by Ariana Grande or perhaps Revival by Selena Gomez coming soon. This is album is unholy. The writing is as complex as a Dr.Suess book. The production sounds like it was made on a 3 dollar mac program. Ryn vocals sounds like a dying cow. It was a displeasure from start to finish.

Her style is too much rambling and inconclusive. Anyway there are some good pop songs and also some good alternative songs. They just don't fit each other.

People call this garbage music? I'm losing faith in humanity. She sounds like a goat and her vocals are not good at all. This will be her first & last album. She's over.

Horrible. This album is just a full-length HEADACHE, not an album. I used to stan for her on Twitter because of the bop Octahate, but obviously her style of music changed since then. Garbage. Atrocious vocals, she wants to be a folk singer so bad. Do NOT buy this.

Despite this being a debut album it still comes off as a bit raw, reaching this odd middle ground musically. Most of Ryn's lyrics are about being a lovesick twenty-something and the production obviously sounds like Passion Pit on most songs. Here is Home sounds like a Fleetwood Mac song. What I get overall is a talented, kind of wild singer trying to put her stamp on mellow indie pop tracks that have minds of their own. I love her voice and I love Passion Pit so it all kind of works for me personally, but I think Ryn Weaver really starts to forge a cool identity on the better tracks on the album. My favorites were OctaHate, Promises and The Fool. Other indie influences find their way into the production and are hit or miss overall.

I could see how this album isn't for everyone but I liked it for the most part; I hope there's more to come!

Magnificent! That's all i have to say. Ryn takes us to a whole another dimension with her indiepop inspired album and her angelic vocals. Each song is well written and produced. You can totally see her work through the music. Also a lot of feelings which is good. She's very open about it! You rock girl!

In my opinion, The Fool is the best debut to come out since Lorde's Pure Heroine (an album that I pretty much revere as my bible). It has many strong ones: everything about "Pierre", the quirky a capella coda of "Traveling Song", the electro groove of "Stay Low".In my opinion, The Fool is the best debut to come out since Lorde's Pure Heroine (an album that I pretty much revere as my bible). At times, as on Free, there’s a danger of things crossing into the formulaic big-pop sound the Mumfords have spread through the charts. But more often, these songs – written with Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos among others--are imbued with enough subtle strangeness to remain beguiling.

The Fool is full of promise, and though it just barely misses the mark as far as greatness is concerned, Weaver’s established that she’s on the right track for deserved potential superstardom.

The biggest highlights on The Fool ("Here Is Home") balance both of those instincts, tempering folky ache with subtle, twinkly beats.
