Korn have always excelled at pain, but with The Nothing, this is the most authentic it's ever been.

There are incredibly emotional moments throughout the record, really driving the anger and sadness of the music. Some songs lack depth and don’t land as well as others, but, overall, The Nothing remains an emotionally potent experience that longtime fans of Korn will enjoy.

Perhaps Korn's best album this century. [Oct 2019, p.89]

This urgent and important record will ensure the veterans don’t get lost in the shuffle.

It is more a showcase of Korn's strengths when hard times do come along; harnessing their ability to inspire and energise even in the darkest and most difficult of circumstances. [14 Sep 2019, p.53]

Overall, The Nothing is a huge step back for the band. The Paradigm Shift and The Serenity of Suffering were far from perfect, but they rode a line that balanced a contemporary vision with their stapled characteristics. This tries dearly to be nostalgic yet fresh, but the finished product just comes across forced and derivative.

Have heard the album at noon today and can say that it is not bad but also does not reach the big time in the 90s.

Track 1 is doing well, but title 2 stops it again. The train does not really roll with me.
Do not have too high expectations.

Woof. There's a valiant effort here in attempting to resurrect the Korn sound of old, but every time they give you hope, Jonathan Davis opensWoof. There's a valiant effort here in attempting to resurrect the Korn sound of old, but every time they give you hope, Jonathan Davis opens his mouth, and ruins everything. The lyrics are the same tired, recycled, and remain to be exactly what you would expect from a nearly 50 year old man suffering from Peter Pan Syndrome. This album would be much more palatable with literally any other vocalist taking the reigns. Full Review »

It's one of Korn's darkest albums , finding Jonathan Davis performing his most personal material yet. The band sounds fresh, while not shying away from the things that made them famous in the first place. This is an instant classic, and one of the best Metal albums of the last decade at least. It's a MUST LISTEN! Full Review »
