Mar 15, 2019Even though there are moments that skirt close to self-indulgence--there’s an entire song dedicated to celebrated author Judy Blume which still somehow works, while Bigger On The Inside stops being a heartfelt defence after a while and just turns into a bit of a whine--and you’re left with the impression that a sympathetic editor would do wonders for Palmer, there are still some heart-stopping moments of beauty on this third album.

Q MagazineMar 12, 2019A reminder why she's adored by many. With Palmer's dramatic piano and piercing vocals offset by lush orchestration, it's short on whimsy but long on Big Topics. [May 2019, p.115]
-
Mar 11, 2019Cathartic in its honesty, There Will Be No Intermission is not dressed up in the same theatrics as her past work, but loaded with the drama of real life. Her fans have allowed us this record, and she’s given the world all of herself in return.
-
Mar 8, 2019It is a flood of art at its most naked that won’t relent until you are submersed.
-
Mar 7, 2019This is not so much pop music, as music that might make your ears pop.
-
UncutMar 5, 2019Her deft piano playing helps release some of the tension in her highwire act. [Apr 2019, p.34]
-
Mar 5, 2019There Will Be No Intermission is a work of art. It’s as political a record as it is personal.
-
Mar 5, 2019There Will Be No Intermission is a triumphant return of an uncompromising artist. It is singularly the best piece of work that Palmer has produced in her career.
-
Mar 5, 2019Though occasionally there are moments that feel as though the form was decided in advance, and the links between the tracks are not always fully articulated, the album largely does a good job of exploring the ideas contained within each track.

Apr 30, 2019Love this record. So much heartache and truth here. Easily her most raw and honest record yet.
