    Trick is a record that feels like a trip back into what he once was, only with all his senses heightened. ‘Grudge’ was polished; this is as rough and ready as it gets.

    As ever, so much depends on your tolerance for Treays’ desire to make “big statements”--the noise assault of Drone Strike feels a little too on-point--but this at least feels like Jamie T is being himself again.

    One step forward, two steps backward: having produced perhaps his best album with 2014’s Carry On The Grudge, Jamie T is at best stationary, and often retrograde, on Trick.
