The music on Weekends is balanced between bright, up-tempo numbers and cheerless explorations of loneliness and heartache, but even on the dance tunes, the somber lyrics keep things from getting too exuberant.

Weekends is an inspired assortment of astutely executed ideas packed into 12 flowing pieces that deserves a wider audience than its likely to receive.

Considering how the lyrical content and flat as a rug singing in Weekends was written for an elementary school child to understand, they probably should've kept it that way; it occasionally downgrades the songs to a point where they are unable to rise above their cheesiness.
