Simplemente asombroso.

It's not the album that I want to listen on repeat. But I can relate to a lot of songs in this album, such as "bad guy", "you should see me in a crown", "ilomilo", "my strange addiction". Billie Eilish's debut album is one of the best types of debut projects I have ever seen. This sound is something I have never heard from any artist and it was a refreshing breath of air from the music that has been releasing recently, but that isn't to say that there aren't missteps. Some production choices are a mistake, but as a whole I believe the album is strong especially for a debut.Billie Eilish's debut album is one of the best types of debut projects I have ever seen. Extremely Boring and overrated , just a product created to make basic girls feel "original" like if that could change the fact that she litterally copied the style of Avril Lavigne, Lana del Rey and Lorde

All my friends hate Billie Eilish. I didn’t want to reach that same conclusion without listening to her work, so I gave her only album a listen. I was expecting it to be absolutely awful, and those expectations were mostly met. I didn’t like how dark a lot of her songs were—and it’s sad to think that’s what the world enjoys now—the lyrics to some songs weren’t that creative, and some of them use the awful, annoying, and generic electronic drum tracks. Plus, the way she vibratos her voice can be really hard to listen to. On the other hand, I did enjoy the upbeatness of some tracks and I enjoyed the loud and creative bass, but neither of those things are able to save this album from disaster, unfortunately. It’s such a shame Bad Guy turned into a generic mumble rap song in its finale, I really liked the first 75% of it. Bottom line, while I did not quite think this was as bad as it could’ve been, I’m not sure that I would call some of her songs from WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? music. Highlights: none :(

Beautiful and coherent, Billie gaves a incredible album with innovations on a world where the repetitive is present. Her style and vocals give a immersive and kinda excited contact with the album, where sometimes we wanna dance, sometimes we wanna cry, and so it goes. The fact of this album have winned a Grammy's reinforces your power in the music.

Not sure what everyone sees in this. After 3 listens this is mediocre at best. It would seem we really are in the age where we celebrate mediocre as the second coming of Christ. She better show more range than the sad sack persona she seems to have cultivated here or she will be a footnote in the history of pop.

Ok, isn't the most original stuff, but "WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?" impresses by its consistence and cohesion, some melodies are variations of same thing, but there's still too many sounding layers and reflexive lyricism, which demonstrates maturity about composition and production, considering Billie and her brother's few age.

Just a couple of years ago, I was blown away by Billie’s album ‘don’t smile at me’. However, this album seems a bit rushed and many of the songs sound very similar. You'll see a sort of humorous side to her in the smash hit "Bad Guy", feel compassion in "Xanny", feel dominance in "You Should See Me In a Crown", the emotions in "When the Party's Over", and might even make you cry in "I Love You".
This album as a whole is not just an album, it's an experience; and I highly recommend you listen to it. Billie takes you on this journey that will leave you captivated from start to finish and it's a real triumphant body of work.

It’s the most intelligent pop album since Melodrama (from which it takes many cues) and flows effortlessly, balancing its dark, industrial vibe (i.e. “see me in a crown”) with a dreamy, California coffeehouse vibe (i.e. “8”). It’s strange and humorous, tongue-in-cheek and sincere, menacing and beautiful; it’s an anti-pop masterpiece.

Original Review: It took me two full listens, but ultimately this album really impressed me. It’s a potpourri of atmospheres: part horror film, part coffeehouse, part indie version of Britney Spears’ dark-pop masterpiece Blackout (some of the Halloween-esque production is reminiscent of Nate Hills’ work with Britney in 2007); it’s an honest, intimate work that’s unnerving, humorous, and raw. If Sigrid was the sunnier version of Pure Heroine, Billie’s debut is its darker underbelly. Highlights include the opening track, the Office-referencing “strange addiction,” the haunting “bury a friend,” and the stunningly beautiful “listen before I go.”

This is my album of the year so far. And that is coming from an 18 year old male who primarily listens to hardcore rap and heavy metal. Billie's voice is undoubtedly great and works impressively well with the dark, sinister instrumentation. It's pop music with an edge and in an age of hollow, boring and uninspired trap bangers, this is an extremely refreshing listen.

Applause to the first ASMR pop-album. Genius piece of art performed by young girl with a lot to say (or whisper) to you.

This album has some unique moments but overall I am a little underwhelmed. I also think there are quite some moments on the record that completely bore me out, maybe due to the vocals and the production. I like the theme of darkness Eilish is heading toward with this project but through time the album just starts to become kind of dull and uneventful. Sometimes the melody sounds weird, not in a good way, and the production to me is sometimes bland and just needs more polishing. I like and really appreciate the ideas Billie put into this, but this just needs a bit more quality songwriting and production I feel like, and I do not think the tracks even correlate with the title of the album - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? The first half is more adventurous but the second half, nah. Expand

Fascinating as Billie shows in this album that takes a mix of theme very well sung and with arrangements that mark who is the new voice of Indie-Pop

It’s a good album, great production but the lyrics are so basic, already the second best album of the year

I have refused a lot to hear it, but if I want to criticize it, I have to hear it. I will not deny that it has a very good production, with great quality, but it is useless if your voice is so dull and boring. When I heard "Bad Guy" it was perfect, but when she sings she does **** it would sound much better if it were only instrumental. Her singing, well, her whispers are so exasperating, only Selena Gomez can forgive her, but lately she has also made pure garbage. Billie Eilish brings nothing but her whispers and "super weird" lyrics for a 17-year-old girl, she does not use great technique or effort to sing if she could be said to sing, she sounds totally like Lorde in Pure Heroine but without soul. As it is possible that the music sounds much louder than the voice, it is incredible how flat and boring it is, those effects that it uses in its voice are exasperating and annoying, it is noted that it is the only resource that it has to use because it does not have a great voice or that is the image you want to give. It was like 40 minutes underwater and I was not wrong to think that this was going to be a tremendous bore. Expand

One of the most interesting releases of the year! The only problem with the record is Billie’s voice in some points/songs where it’s barely audible.

Different than everything out there right now! This album is amazing! A little bit more of a spark would have been good! Maybe a second Bad Guy type of song, a little more upbeat maybe

Billie Eilish's debut album is a mixture of weirdness, groovy sounds, and angsty feelings. Eilish truly stands out against the backdrop of stars like Ariana Grande and Cardi B. "bury a friend" is a piece of devilish pop, while "listen before i go" is a solemn piano ode.

Eilish delivers pretty well on her debut record and it also sets her up very nicely for a follow-up.

Even though this is her debut album, Billie Eilish has already a unique and concrete sound. When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? sounds cohesive and presents us an awesome storytelling. Despite using some of the same techniques in different songs, Billie Eilish extends her range of emotions further, apart away from the darkness, and conveying more than a 'cool girl' symbol, and rather human.

Once you break down the prejudices, her album is a sheer gem, worth listening and one of the best of the year. I really love her dark side meeting with her bright side.

Probably one of the best debut albums of all time! The production makes this whole body of work very cohesive and enjoyable. The story being told by each song is very intriguing and I love how Billie included a wrap up song like ‘goodbye’. Overall a 10/10. Awesome job Billie!

the hazy sad creepy vibe holds for the first couple of tracks after which it becomes repetitive. It's alright but just not gripping enough to listen to in one go.

One of the most well produced and experimental debut albums of all time. From the story telling to transitions in tracks billie made a loud statement with this album. Little sounds that are hidden. Emotion is portrayed so deeply. Ending it with goodbye was a genius move. Being that this is her debut she only has room for more in the future.

On WWAFAWDWG, Billie Eilish spends too much time trying to be edgy and make references to pop culture (what was the point of the Michael Scott sample? It had no revelance to anything on the project) that she forgets about the rest of the album. When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? is a startlingly good introduction to Billie Eilish, an album full of attitude but with the talent to back it up. Where she goes from here will be fascinating to see.

The 17-year-old sensation takes pop iconography and musical status quo and lacerates it, opting out of femme fatale for tomboy cargos and goth macabre, and sleek soundscapes for creepy eccentrics.

This surprising, haunting album will speak powerfully both to her peers and to anyone who remembers how youth can sometimes feel like an overwhelming weight. [Jun 2019, p.110]
