The synthy, downbeat direction they chose may not be the most thrilling option, but the band make it work thanks to their musical vision, the wonderful voices of Merve Dasdemir and Erdinç Ecevit, and the fact that nobody else around is making music quite like this.

The group offers a dose of nostalgia for an era that never quite existed in this form previously in any case. Either way, this is medicine that you can imagine lighting up the most varied of settings. Yol is a transportive listen, offering portals to environments few could have ever envisaged.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Altin Gun is awesome and that is basically the long and the short of it. The mesmerizing blend of Turkish folk music and lyrics and psychedelic rock music is very innovative and groovy. The heavy synths and drums also add a lot to the production of all the songs . There are also elements of disco pop which has seen a resurgence in recent years. Some of the production is just so brilliant and wierd and i definitely recommend this album. Hey Nari, Kesik cAYIR, sEVDA Olmasaydi and Macka Yollari are some of my favorites on the album. But the highlight of the album for me was of course, Yekte with some of the most impressive vocals, and a great blend of Turkish instrumentation and a brilliant post chorus that i keep replaying in my head over and over. They definitely deserve more praise and recognition than hey have. Well done and Congrats to them.... Expand
