He’s a soundboy at heart, so you’ll hear bass-propelled elements at play (dewy jungle breaks, grimey synth stabs, low-end bumps, the no-bullshit patter of MC DRS), but ‘Presents James Grieve’ is all about exhilarating propulsion and the power of drums.

What we have in this album is a solid set of dance head-turners, but it narrowly misses the rubbed-raw rave charm of 2012’s ode to the 808, 'Transistor Rhythm.'

After years of sluggish BPMs and charts run by screw-influenced beats, the people may be ready for something with the uptempo beats of Presents James Grieve. The question now is whether Addison Groove wants to be the man for that job.
  4. A release packed with bangers and choppy breaks.

There's an excellent 12-inch (or two) hidden in Addison Groove Presents James Grieve.
