emilywApr 30, 2006I'm pretty sure 'paint the silence' was on South's first cd, which is, coincidentally, the exact cd that matt a said was weak. This cd is solid though, and the songs speak for themselves. While not quite as strong as doves, this band still hold their own.

JimCApr 6, 2006Perhaps the most underrated band from Englad puts forth another dreamy effort.

JoMay 12, 2006For anyone who caompares them with Doves, With The Tides is indeed a bit doves-like, but with much better songs on it. Really, this band is very underrated in whole europe, they deserve tons of airplay with such classic tunes. This is their second very good cd, not as good as With The Tides tough

Fans of Badly Drawn Boy's Have You Fed the Fish? and Doves' Some Cities should understand Adventures in the Underground Journey to the Stars.
-
FilterThere's a newfound emotionality here. [#19, p.93]

Even with a couple of clunkers, “Adventures in the Underground Journey to The Stars is without question South’s best effort to date simply because it has done more to command the listener’s attention.
