  1. While sometimes dreamy and ethereal, South are able to bridge quieter moments with danceable, gloomy pop – simply speaking, a great achievement.
  2. South have an ear for melody, uniformly excellent production values, and a good sense of dynamics; all of which manifests itself in some very satisfying melodic Brit-pop.
  3. Even with a couple of clunkers, “Adventures in the Underground Journey to The Stars is without question South’s best effort to date simply because it has done more to command the listener’s attention.

    There's a newfound emotionality here. [#19, p.93]
  5. Overall, South are in roughly the same place they've always been, making good post-Britpop music that sounds fantastic and sometimes erupts in a moment of unadulterated brilliance.
  6. Fans of Badly Drawn Boy's Have You Fed the Fish? and Doves' Some Cities should understand Adventures in the Underground Journey to the Stars.
  7. An abundance of hook-laden choruses, New Order analog-boogie and Stone Roses-cool could not be more frustratingly baked into this crumbly crust.
  8. What they’ve offered up is something that sounds like the Brit-jangle of the Stone Roses but less optimistic, a bit ballsier, and ultimately not as compelling.
  9. While the tunes on Adventures may be a bit more nebulous and a bit less intricate than those found on From Here on In and With the Tides, they are by no means any less engaging, and in some cases are even more resplendent.

Disappointing, however, contains some of Souths best tracks, which would be "Shallow", "You Are One", "A Place In Displacement", and "Flesh Disappointing, however, contains some of Souths best tracks, which would be "Shallow", "You Are One", "A Place In Displacement", and "Flesh And Bone". The rest of the album is truely unremarkable filler, sadly. Pray that they revisit the bliss of From Here On In. Full Review »

This is an excellent album! I'd even say that this is as good as the album "With the tides". The best tracks are You are one (my This is an excellent album! I'd even say that this is as good as the album "With the tides". The best tracks are You are one (my favorite and can't miss next single!), A place in displacement, Shallow, Pieces of a dream and Up close and personal. I think it's a shame that this band is not widely known. I just can't stop listening to Adventures. It's way better than the last Coldplay record. Full Review »

For anyone who caompares them with Doves, With The Tides is indeed a bit doves-like, but with much better songs on it. Really, this band is For anyone who caompares them with Doves, With The Tides is indeed a bit doves-like, but with much better songs on it. Really, this band is very underrated in whole europe, they deserve tons of airplay with such classic tunes. This is their second very good cd, not as good as With The Tides tough Full Review »
