Blade of Love is a piece that takes the ideas and challenges of their debut even further without losing any of their focus or animal thump.

Rarely has the economy of instrumentation and composition been used to such compelling effect as it is on Blade of Love.

This time, the inevitable transition from vocalizations to near-unison saxophone shredding doesn’t carry quite the same charge. But on the whole, Blade Of Love shows that there’s plenty of sax-quartet innovation left for these artists to explore.

At its best, Blade of Love is nicely adventurous and somewhat relentless. However, where Palace of Wind left listeners with an active role of relation and interpretation, Battle Trance comes off as a little overbearing this time around.
