  1. Boomkatalog.one is that rarest of recordings that makes pop fans' hearts beat a little faster: a deft combination of musical styles, both current and past, that, when integrated with powerful hooks and strong execution, adds up to an irresistible album.
  2. They're just two talented Hollywood kids proving how fun it can be to watch TRL.
  3. Sure, the waifish white girl slips up plenty by trying too hard to be cool, but it feels like they're having a good time, as the duo scratch and shout their way through head-swaying slow songs, soul-funk Jamiroquai-ish joints, some pop quickies and an array of other styles.
  4. Boomkatalog. One is a clever marriage of technology, creativity, and straight-up sass that gets away with being much more enjoyable than it might deserve.

Its forays into techno, pop, and--most embarrassingly--hip-hop make it seem like they're just throwing a bunch of styles against a wall to see what sticks. [18 Apr 2003, p.70]

Isn't so much minimalist as just plain minimal. [Aug 2003, p.120]
  7. Despite their fakeness, Boomkat fill the smarter-than-your-average-pop void left by fellow film-music switch-hitter Vitamin C.
  8. Q Magazine

    A numbing montage of half-formed ideas and too-slick production. [Jul 2003, p.100]
