In all its ethereal beauty, Ceremony is an ideal companion, whatever you’re going through right now. It’s a perfectly suited album to fill your earbuds while going on a walk, or for the next time you’re lounging on a chair in your backyard as the sun shines down.

This is her fullest and most colourful release to date, but it’s still a dense work that takes time to reveal itself. Casual listeners are unlikely to be rewarded.

Tiny Ruins’ effortlessly stunning lyricism and creative cohesiveness mean that ‘Ceremony’ does in fact hit the mark from start to finish.

There's no filler to be found on another accomplished and quietly haunted release from a group celebrating a decade together as a unit.

Relationships with uncomfortable endings, uneasy attractions, and deep personal loss pepper Fullbrook's songs, but her Tiny Ruins bandmates consistently lift her into the light, creating warmth and depth rather than leaving the listener in endless gloom. [Jun 2023, p.86]

Some may find the often austere arrangements off-putting, but this is an album which proves that Tiny Ruins are a band that can creep into your heart without you even noticing.

Since "Olympic Girls" (2019), is something that I feel is what would help the band to grow. "Ceremony", actually, works with this a little more, but I feel there is a fear to explore the strength and power of their inner voice. "Dorothy Bay" would be a nice example of the extent to which the band is capable to achieve if they would have a stronger hand on the composition, let it sound a little louder and take advantage of all the time the music needs to speak the complete feeling.
